Architecture takes Begg Memorial

THE BALTIMORE SUN

DAVIDSONVILLE -- Architecture came from the off-pace and won the John M. Begg Memorial timber race by a neck over Capital K. yesterday at the Marlborough Hunt Races.

The two horses caught pace-setter Little Muggy about two fences from the wire and flew the last two jumps. J. W. Delozier, a high school junior from Baltimore County, rallied on the outside with Architecture to nip Joe Gillet on Capital K.

Circuit Bar, who won the maiden hurdle at Marlborough last year, repeated yesterday with a wire-to-wire victory in the Open Hurdle race. He was ridden by Greg Ryan of Baltimore.
