ROBBERY: Central District -- A man told police he was robbed of $100 shortly after 9 p.m. yesterday by a woman who was reading his fortune in the 400 block of E. Baltimore St. The victim told police he was inside a fortune-teller's parlor around 9:20 p.m. and was having his palm read when someone in the dimly lighted room removed his wallet from his pants pocket. The man told police that when he realized what had happened, someone turned out the room's lights, preventing him from finding the person who robbed him. No arrests had been made in the case.

THEFT: Central District -- A man reported that while his car was parked in the 900 block of Cathedral St. yesterday, someone broke into it and stole a portable radio valued at $50.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A man reported that someone broke into his car while it was parked in the 700 block of N. Wolfe St. yesterday between noon and 2 p.m. and stole a metal box containing tools. Police said the property was valued at $200 and that entry was gained by breaking one of the car's windows.

CHURCH BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a church in the 1500 block of E. Baltimore St. yesterday afternoon but fled without taking any property when a member of the church entered a room. Police said the break-in occurred at the Little Tabernacle Church at 1501 E. Baltimore St. around 1 p.m. The intruder tried to steal an electric space heater from an office. Police said the intruder, who was wearing a red coat, escaped out the door.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Someone broke into a car parked in the 200 block of S. Oldham St. over the weekend and stole two stereo radio speakers valued at $100.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A 36-year-old woman who owns a jewelry store in the 500 block of N. Gay St. was getting out of her car not far from her business in the 500 block of Flat Iron Alley Saturday when she noticed three men standing nearby who appeared to be suspicious. Police said the woman returned to her car and locked the driver's door and was walking back to her store when she was approached by the men. Police said one of them pulled out a handgun and ordered the woman to give up her purse. Police said the armed man and his accomplices escaped on foot with cash and property, all valued at $200.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 6500 block of St. Helena Ave. reported that someone broke into his home through an enclosed front-porch door and stole his Yamaha dirt bike. Police said three youths were later arrested in the burglary and the dirt bike, valued at $800, was recovered.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- An O'Donnell Heights resident told police that someone entered the back yard of his home Saturday and stole a 1979 Suzuki dirt bike. The owner of the dirt bike, a resident of the 1400 block of Mosander Way, told police the theft occurred between 5 and 9 a.m. The value of the bike was not known.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A man reported he was walking through Old Town Mall in the 500 block of N. Gay St. around 8:30 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by two men, one with a handgun, who demanded his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice went through the victim's pockets and stole $50 before escaping on foot.

THEFT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at Santoni's market in the 3800 block of E. Lombard St. yesterday evening arrested a 35-year-old woman who attempted to leave the store without paying for medicine valued at more than $7. Police said the woman was detained by a store security officer until police arrived. The woman, police said, was held overnight at the women's detention center at the Central District pending formal theft charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 100 block of Aisquith St. reported that someone broke into her apartment early yesterday through a bathroom window and stole a VCR valued at $300.

THEFT: Western District -- A man reported that while his car was parked in the 2300 block of Braddish Ave. over the weekend someone broke into the trunk and stole more than $100.

CHURCH BURGLARY: Western District -- Members of the New Aduzennia Church in the 100 block of N. Gilmor St. reported that someone broke into the building over the weekend and stole property of unknown value. Police said the thief got in through a window over the front door.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said a woman was walking in the 500 block of N. Fulton Ave. yesterday afternoon when a man ran past her and stole her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $200.

THEFT/ARREST: Western District -- Police yesterday arrested a resident of the 1800 block of Kavanagh St. and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central District station pending theft charges. Police said the woman was stopped by a security officer at the Farm Fresh store when she attempted to leave without paying for food items valued at $11.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 1000 block of McKean Ave. and stole several feet of copper piping from the basement. Police said entry was gained through a rear basement door and the value of the property was not known.

SCHOOL BURGLARY: Western District -- School police reported that someone broke into the Franklin Square Elementary School in the 1400 block of W. Lexington St. over the weekend and ransacked nearly a dozen rooms and offices. Police said it was not immediately known what was taken and entry was gained sometime Saturday night or yesterday morning through a window on the building's west side.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Employees of the Rite Aid pharmacy in the 3400 block of Clifton Ave. reported that someone broke into the store over the weekend and stole more than $500 worth of assorted brands of cigarettes. Police said entry was gained by breaking a window.

RAPE: Southwestern District -- A woman told police she was accosted Saturday night in the 2100 block of Garrison Blvd. by a man who forced her into a dwelling. There, the woman later told police, the man raped her at gunpoint and then robbed her of nearly $50 before letting her go. Following the rape, the woman was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

BURGLARY/RAPE: Southwestern District -- Police were seeking a man known as "David" in connection with the rape early yesterday of a woman at her home. The woman told police she was awakened around 1:30 a.m. by a man she recognized who forced her down on a bed and raped her. After the man fled, the woman called the police. Following treatment at a hospital, the woman was released.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A woman told police she was walking in the 100 block of S. Culver St. yesterday afternoon when she was stopped by a man with a handgun who ordered her to give up her purse. Police said the woman complied and the gunman escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $800.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Two Catonsville women standing by the duck pond inside Woodlawn Cemetery yesterday afternoon were robbed of their purses by a man who threatened to shoot them with a handgun. Police said the women, a 47-year-old mother and her 30-year-old daughter, were standing at the edge of the cemetery's duck pond near Gwynn Oak Avenue and Woodlawn Drive around 4:30 p.m. when they were approached by a man in his late teens who pulled out a dark-colored handgun. Police said the man held the gun to the head of one of the women and threatened to shoot if they did not give up their purses. The gunman escaped by running into a nearby wooded area. Police said the purses contained cash and property, all valued at nearly $200.

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- An employee of an Exxon service station and mini-mart in the 8600 block of Philadelphia Road reported she was forced to give up money from the cash register and two cartons of cigarettes early today to a man with a handgun. The victim told police the man entered the station shortly after 1 a.m. and left a few minutes later. When he entered a second time around 1:30 a.m., the man approached the counter with his face covered by his sweat-shirt hood. The clerk told police the man pulled out a handgun and ordered her to give him the contents of the cash register. After taking an undisclosed sum and the cigarettes, the gunman ran out the front door and was last seen running west along Golden Ring Road.

ROBBERY: North Point District -- Police said two men, one armed with a knife, entered the Midway service station in the 6900 block of Holabird Ave. around 9 p.m. yesterday and forced an employee to give them the contents of the cash register. Police said the men fled with an undisclosed sum.

Anne Arundel County

BURGLARY: Deale -- A resident of the 5900 block of Deale-Churchton Road reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a door and stole several pieces of computer equipment. Police said the property was valued at nearly $800.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police said several pieces of computer equipment were stolen from a dwelling in the 7900 block of Cross Creek Drive. Police said the property was valued at more than $700 and that entry was gained through a door.

BURGLARY: Pasadena -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 600 block of 209th St. by forcing a door and stole property valued at more than $2,600. Police said the intruder escaped with tools and fishing equipment.
