DOUBLE SHOOTING: Western District -- Police today were seeking a man and his female companion in connection with the shootings early yesterday of a couple inside the victims' home in the 500 block of N. Carrollton Ave. Police said the shootings occurred about 12:10 a.m. during an argument about rent the suspect, a resident of the North Carrollton Avenue house, owed the landlord and his wife. Brian and Marie Sampson were shot with a handgun inside their first-floor apartment. Police said the tenant, who lives on the second floor, and his girlfriend fled and were still at large. Police said the Sampsons were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where they were treated for minor gunshot wounds and released.
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Western District -- Police responding to the burglary of a house in the 1700 block of Harlem Ave. around 10 a.m. yesterday arrested three youths who broke in through the front door. Police said the three suspects were attempting to steal several pieces of furniture when they were arrested.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police said property valued at nearly $650 was stolen from a dwelling in the 3000 block of Grayson St. after someone broke into the house Wednesday evening. Entry was gained through a kitchen window. A TV and a microwave oven were stolen.
SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police today were seeking a man in connection with the shooting early yesterday of a man in the 3300 block of W. Baltimore St. Police said about 2:30 a.m. yesterday, Cordell Walker, of the first block of Retinue Court in Baltimore County, was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who shot him in the arm. Mr. Walker was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police have the identity of the suspect but declined to name him until he is captured.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Employees of Towns' Unisex Barber Shop in the 500 block of Swann Ave. reported that someone broke into the business between Wednesday night and yesterday morning and stole a TV, microwave oven and cash. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,000 and that entry was gained through a basement window.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of an apartment building in the 300 block of N. Chapelgate Lane reported that someone broke into his basement storage locker over the past three weeks and stole property valued at more than $1,000. Police said entry into the locker was by using a tool to pry a lock off the door.
THEFT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 700 block of Lyndhurst St. told police that someone entered his home yesterday and stole jewelry and several U.S. savings bonds. Police said the property was valued at more than $2,000.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 700 block of N. Denison St. reported that someone broke into her home by forcing the front door and stole several pieces of property. Police said the value of the property was not known.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- The owner of an unidentified business in the 400 block of E. 32nd St. reported that someone broke into the building between Tuesday night and early Wednesday and stole a cash register. Police said the cash register contained an unknown sum and that entry into the building was by breaking out a pane of glass in the front door.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Officials of the Central Maryland Ecumenical Council in the first block of W. University Parkway reported that someone broke into the office between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and stole a compact disc player, tape player and several compact discs. Police said the property was valued at more than $700.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of a real estate management firm told police that someone broke into an apartment the firm owns in the 4700 block of Kernwood Road and stole a refrigerator. Police said the appliance was valued at $500.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said property valued at more than $100 was stolen from an apartment in the 2800 block of N. Howard St. after someone entered by breaking out a pane of glass in a kitchen door.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that someone entered a storage locker in an apartment building in the 5600 block of Newberry Ave. and stole a leather carrying bag, two wallets, cash and other personal items. The victim, a resident of the building, told police the property was valued at more than $600.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3100 block of Guilford Ave. reported that someone entered his apartment Wednesday from the fire escape and stole electronic equipment and a compact disc player. Police said the property was valued at more than $700.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police today were seeking a man in connection with the theft Wednesday of four gold rings from the living room of a house in the 4400 block of Falls Bridge Drive. Police said the jewelry was valued at several thousand dollars and that the suspect is known to the victim.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police reported a man armed with a handgun robbed a beauty supply company of $200 Wednesday morning. Police said after the gunman entered the North Avenue Beauty Supply Inc. in the 3100 block of W. North Ave. around 11 a.m. Wednesday, he walked up to an employee and ordered him to give him the contents of the cash register. Following the robbery, the gunman walked out of the front door and escaped.
Baltimore County
DOUBLE SHOOTING: Essex District -- Two men were shot early today near the 1100 block of Tace Drive. The shooting, apparently drug-related, left Stanley Schultz, 24, of the 4500 block of Fitch Ave. in Fullerton, with a gunshot wound in the stomach. He underwent surgery at Francis Scott Key Medical Center and was in critical condition. The second victim, George William Sebree, 27, of the 200 block of Sipple Ave. in Overlea, suffered a minor gunshot wound to the head. He was treated and released from the same hospital. Police were questioning two suspects, but charges had not been filed. The victims were found in the vicinity of Middleborough Road near the 1100 block of Hartland Road shortly before 2:30 a.m.
BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling at the Canterbury Apartments in the 9200 block of Oswald Way and stole two purses, both containing cash and personal items. Police said entry was gained by lifting a sliding glass door off its track. Earlier in the week, several other apartments in the same complex were broken into and that the same method of entry was used.
BURGLARY: Cockeysville District -- Police reported that someone broke into a house under construction in the 15900 block of Old York Road in Monkton between Monday night and Wednesday morning and stole a gas-operated range. Police said the appliance was valued at $500 and that entry was gained through a basement window.
ROBBERY: Towson District -- Police reported a masked man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed the Eastern Savings Bank in the 500 block of York Road yesterday afternoon of an undisclosed sum. Police said a man wearing a bandanna over his face entered the bank shortly after 2:30 p.m., and told a teller to give him all the money in her cash drawer. The man kept one hand inside a paper bag as though he were holding a handgun. Following the robbery, the man ran out the front door and escaped in an unknown direction.
ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- Police said a man armed with a handgun entered the office of an Exxon station in the 6100 block of Edmondson Ave. shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday and ordered an employee to give him the contents of the cash register. After taking the money, police said the man drove off in a stolen car.
Anne Arundel County
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Arnold -- Police arrested three men early Wednesday and charged them with breaking into two Arnold businesses. County police said Montgomery County police had the three men under surveillance for an unknown reason from the time they left Rockville until they were seen breaking into Domino's pizza and Sessions, a hair salon, both in the 1500 block of Ritchie Highway around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. After the two break-ins, Montgomery County police followed the three men as they drove north on Route 2. When the three men stopped at a 7-Eleven store at Route 2 and College Parkway and entered the store, they were detained there by Montgomery County police and arrested by Officer Jeff Noseworthy. Police searched the car and found several hand tools. Police said no property was taken from the two businesses that were broken into. From the store, the three men were taken to the county's Eastern District station, where they were each charged with two counts of breaking into the pizza shop and the hair salon with intent to commit a felony, two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, and two counts of destruction of property. Police said Donald L. Hite, 33, of no fixed address; Richard Leroy Robey Jr., 18, of the 7500 block of Dance Hall Road in Frederick, and Russell Lee Robey Sr., 29, of the 5000 block of Green Valley Road in Monrovia, Frederick County, were being held in the county's Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail each.
DRUG ARRESTS: Millersville -- Police raided a room at an unnamed hotel Wednesday morning and arrested three men, two from out of town, on drug charges. After entering at 1:30 a.m. with a search-and-seizure warrant, police searched the room and found 65 grams of crack cocaine, five grams of marijuana and more than $1,000. Police said the drugs, four handguns and ammunition were hidden in holes in the bathroom ceiling and walls. Police said Steven Jerew, 30, of the 1000 block of St. Margaret Ave. in Annapolis, and Hopeton Hudson and Richard Jackson, both from Irvington, N.J., were charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute. Bail information on the three men was not available.
BURGLARY: Hanover -- Police reported that someone broke into a business in the 1300 block of Mercedes Drive earlier in the week and stole cash and a calculator. Police said the property was valued at nearly $400 and that entry was gained by forcing a door.
BURGLARY: Millersville -- Employees of Continental Floral Greens in the 200 block of Najoles Road reported that someone broke into the building through a side door and stole several glass vases. Police said the vases were valued at more than $500.
BURGLARY: Severna Park -- A resident of the 200 block of Benfield Road reported that property valued at more than $800 was stolen from his home after gaining entry through a door. Police said the burglar escaped with cash and a telephone.
Harford County
ROBBERY: Edgewood -- The sheriff's department said a man robbed a convenience store in the 1900 block of Pulaski Highway around 9:30 p.m. yesterday of an undisclosed sum. The man, who was wearing a blue ski parka with a hood, entered the High's dairy store at 1969 Pulaski Highway and ordered the clerk to give him the contents of the cash register while keeping one hand in his parka pocket as though armed. After he was given the money, the man ran out of the store and escaped in an unknown direction.
