Services for Susie Moore Dyett, a retired nursing home owner, will be held at noon today at Douglass Memorial Community Church, Lafayette and Madison avenues.

Mrs. Dyett, who was 87 and lived on Auchentoroly Terrace, died Monday of pneumonia at the Meridian Healthcare Center at Brightwood, in Brooklandville.

She and her first husband, Alonzo Moore, who died in 1982, owned the Plaza Manor Nursing Home in Glen Burnie for 35 years before she sold it in 1984.

A native of Mississippi, the former Susie Washington moved to Baltimore as a young woman.

She was a volunteer in the fuel program of the Urban League and was a member of the Democratic Women's Club and the Voters' Rights Organization.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy O. Dyett; a son, Frank E. Smith; a stepson, Leroy O. Dyett Jr.; two stepdaughters, April and LeAnn Dyett, and six grandchildren. All are of Baltimore.

Fred H. Fliegel

Baltimore teacher

Fred H. Fliegel, a retired Baltimore public school teacher, died March 19 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a blood vessel burst.

Mr. Fliegel, who was 69, lived on White Avenue. He retired 10 years ago after teaching in city schools more than 30 years.

The native of Hamburg, Germany, moved to Baltimore as a child with his family. He was a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute and of what is now Towson State University. He received a master's degree from the University of Maryland.

He served in the Navy at the end of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Marie E. "Libby" Riefner; a son, William W. Fliegel of Perry Hall; and a granddaughter.

Services were held Monday at the Leonard J. Ruck Funeral Home.
