Lena Newell, who was born in Northern Ireland 100 years ago, died Monday of heart failure at North Arundel Hospital.

Services for Mrs. Newell were being held today at the Barranco and Sons Funeral Home, Ritchie Highway and Robinson Road, Severna Park.

Her husband, William James Newell, who did specialized carpentry for contractors, died in 1961.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Hazel Myers of Severna Park and Eileen N. Wilson of Glen Burnie.
