Phillip Gillispie, 41, a former resident here, died Wednesday at theVeteran's Administration Hospital in Bath, N.Y., after an extended illness. He was the son of Howard B. Gillispie of here in Baltimore County and the late Ruth Naylor Gillispie and the stepson of Naomi Gillispie. He was the former husband of Linda Michael Matthews of Westminster. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he had served with the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War. Additional survivors include his children, Michael and Chrissie Gillispie, both of Westminster; a sister, Diane G. Naylor, and brother, Sonny Gillispie, both of New York.

Josephine A. Young, 86, died Monday at the Northhampton Manor Nursing Home here. She was the wife of the late William E. Young. Survivors are children, William L. Young Sr. and David E. Young, both of Mount Airy, Virginia Y. Johnson and Richard E. Young, both of California; and nine grandchildren.

Melvin C. Gesell, 79, a former resident here, died Monday in Florida. He was the husbandof Beryl Remley Gesell. Before his retirement, he was employed by Amstar Corp. in Baltimore. He had been a member of the Westminster United Methodist Church, the Elks Club and Piney Branch Golf Club. A daughter, Catherine Norton, of St. Mary's County, also survives.

John F. "Fred" Miller, 77, died Wednesday at University Hospital as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was the husband of Eva B. Steinberg Miller. A U.S. Army veteran, he had been a lifelong farmer. Additional survivors include a son,David W. Miller of Colver, Pa.; sisters, Marie Adelaide Bittner of Bel Air and Nellie E. Cuffley of Westminster; a brother, Charles M. Miller of here; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery here. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the D. D. Hartzler Funeral Home.

William E. Warfield Sr., 55, died Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Lynn Etzler Warfield. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a member of the American Legion and the Freedom Optimist. He had worked in construction. Additional survivors include a daughter, Wendy L. Warfield of Westminster; son, William E. Warfield Jr. of here; brother, Norman L. Warfield, and sister, Elsie Warfield, both of Baltimore.
Gladys L. Stedding, 68, died Thursday at Baltimore County General Hospital. Surviving are brothers, Millard W. Stedding of West Friendship and Lee C.Stedding of Finksburg; and sisters, Geraldine S. Crawford and Margaret S. Steffey, both of Baltimore.
Ray A. Naill, 62, died Tuesday at Bon Secours Hospital in Baltimore. He was the husband of Dorothy M.Naill and the father of the late Patsy Naill Perry. A veteran of World War II, he was a pressman for a printing company. Additional survivors include sons, Ray B. Naill of Pennsylvania, Randy L. Naill and Rickey C. Naill, both of Baltimore; daughters, Kathy M. Naill of Winfield and Judy M. Naill of Baltimore; sister, Elsie Duvall of Sykesville; and 12 grandchildren.

Robert W. Smith, 79, died Tuesday at Gettysburg Hospital in Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Marjorie Matthews Smith. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he also served as squadron commander of the Civil Air Patrol. Chairmanof the board of Taneytown Bank and Trust Co., he was a retired bakery company executive. A nephew, Webster C. Smith of Emmitsburg, also survives. The family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Early P. Lovejoy, 80, died Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Ruby D. Lovejoy. He had retired from Lehigh Portland Cement Co. and was a member of the VFW. Additional survivors include daughters, Luella J. Ellison of Taneytown and Linda L. Groves of Randallstown; sons, Odis D. Lovejoy of here and Albert Lovejoy of Woodsboro; sister, Delcie Welch of here; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Hoke, 93, died Monday at Carroll Lutheran Village. She was the wife of the late William B. Hoke. Before her retirement, she had worked for Roland ParkReal Estate in Baltimore. She was a member of the American Legion and the First United Presbyterian Church. Surviving are daughters, Peggy J. Scheehagen of here and Ruth E. French of Florida; sister, Margaret Hanauer of Baltimore; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorial contributions to the church at 65 Washington Road.
John Jacob Munch, 87, died Monday at Westminster Nursing & Convalescent Center. He was the husband of the late Rose E. Munch. A farmer, he was amember of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley. Survivors include a daughter, Bea Buckingham of here; son, Norman Colson of Linthicum; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Marie H. Poole, 45, died Tuesday at Carroll County General Hospital. She was the wife of Alfred Poole. Before her illness, she had worked at Random House. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, John A. Poole of Hanover, Pa.; daughter, Wendy L. Poole of here; sister, Deborah C. Long of here; brothers, Donald and Bobby Fields, both of here, Dallas Fields of Sykesville, Homer and Lawrence Fields, both of Ellicott City, and Delmas Fields of Taneytown; and one grandson.
