BURGLARY: Northern District -- Officials of the city's Bureau of Recreation and Parks in the 4900 block of Greenspring Ave. reported that someone broke into the building through a second-floor window between Tuesday night and yesterday morning and stole a 35mm camera and other photographic equipment. Police said the property was valued at more than $700.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 400 block of E. 25th St. told police she was near her home yesterday morning when she was approached by a man who asked her if he could wash her car. The woman told police the man then pulled out a handgun and ordered her to give up her money and jewelry. Police said the gunman fled with cash and several pieces of jewelry, all valued at more than $1,000.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police said a resident of the 400 block of E. 28th St. reported that a man she knows entered her home yesterday morning and stole her TV. Police said the property was valued at $400.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Officials of Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone entered a storage room through a door and stole computer equipment valued at more than $4,000. Police said the burglary occurred between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police said an 8-month-old pit bulldog was stolen from a dwelling in the 3100 block of Keswick Road yesterday afternoon. Marty Brown, the owner of the dog, said the pet was valued at $200.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 800 block of Reverdy Road told police she was talking to a man in the 900 block of E. Belvedere Ave. around 5:30 a.m. yesterday when he stole the purse she was carrying. Police said the man escaped with cash, personal property and keys, all valued at more than $200.
ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man yesterday evening and charged him with the aggravated assault of a woman during an argument. The victim, a resident of the 800 block of Cator Ave., told police that the man struck her in the face wth his fist then stabbed her in the side of the head with a fork. Police reported that one officer who arrived at the scene moments later was assaulted by the man. Besides being charged with assaulting the woman, police said Glenn Allen Scott, 20, also of the 800 block of Cator Ave., was charged with assaulting the officer and resisting arrest. Police said Mr. Scott was held overnight at the station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 100 block of S. Culver St. reported he was seated in his car while stopped at a traffic light in the 600 block of N. Monroe St. when a woman approached and entered his car. A short time later, the motorist told police, the woman pulled out a handgun and ordered him to give up his jewelry. After the man gave the woman his gold ring and a gold chain, the woman got out of the car and escaped. Police said the value of the jewelry was not immediately known.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said two men accosted a resident of the 1500 block of Edmondson Ave. Tuesday night while he was in the 700 block of N. Gilmor St. and forced him to give up his wallet. Police said the men escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $100.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of Byway North in the Dundalk section of Baltimore County reported he was in the 2200 block of Edmondson Ave. yesterday afternoon when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim gave the gunman about $200.
THEFT: Western District -- Police said someone broke into a car while it was parked in the 1800 block of Whittier Ave. yesterday and stole a radio, equalizer, speakers, two cassettes and the seat covers. The owner of the vehicle, a resident of the 600 block of N. Grantley St., told police the property was valued at nearly $1,300.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of E. 36th St. reported she was about to enter her home early yesterday when she was stopped by a man who asked her for a match. Police said the man then pulled out a handgun and demanded she give up her money. When the woman told the man she didn't have any money, the gunman robbed her of her keys and escaped.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 2600 block of Garrett Ave. and stole property valued at $700. Police said entry was gained by forcing a door.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3400 block of Cliftmont Ave. told police that someone broke into his home through the basement door and stole a VCR and stereo speakers. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,000.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police said someone broke into a car while it was parked on the lot at the Northwood Shopping Center in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road yesterday and stole a radar detector. Police said the owner of the car, a resident of Ellicott City in Howard County, valued the property at more than $300. Entry into the car was gained by breaking a side window.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 4900 block of Gunther Ave. yesterday and stole property valued at $400. Police said entry was gained through a bedroom window.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5400 block of Force Road reported that property valued at more than $300 was stolen from her home after someone entered by forcing the front door. Police said the break-in occurred between Tuesday night and yesterday morning.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said property valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from a dwelling in the 4400 block of Moravia Road after someone entered by breaking a bedroom window. Police said a handgun and a VCR were stolen and that the burglary occurred yesterday.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5600 block of Anthony Ave. reported that more than $1,000 was stolen from a closet in his home over the weekend. The victim told police he suspects at least two people who were staying at his home over the weekend took the money.
THEFT: Central District -- Police said someone broke into a car owned by a resident of the 1000 block of E. Preston St. while it was parked in the first block of W. Mulberry St. yesterday evening and stole a coat valued at $100.
THEFT: Central District -- Police said several pieces of clothing were stolen out of the trunk of a Nissan Sentra yesterday evening while the vehicle was parked at Marketplace. The owner of the car, an out-of-town resident, told police the clothing was valued at more than $500.
THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- A resident of the 800 block of Whitelock St. told police that someone entered her apartment yesterday evening and stole a wallet containing nearly $170. Later, police arrested a neighbor of the victim and charged him with theft. Police said Arnold Watson, who lives next door to the victim, was held overnight at the police station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
Baltimore County
BURGLARY/ASSAULT: White Marsh District -- Police said a couple was assaulted Tuesday night when they returned home and confronted a burglar. Police said the man, who broke into the house in the 5300 block of Bush St. through an adjoining garage window, was about to leave with two pieces of property (( when the occupants arrived home. Police said when the couple confronted the intruder, he assaulted both of them before escaping with a TV and a radio. The couple later told police the man drove off in a red or maroon Chevrolet.
BANK ROBBERY: Towson District -- Police said a man armed with a handgun robbed the Maryland National Bank in the 6200 block of N. Charles St. yesterday morning of an undisclosed sum moments after a Federal Armored Express guard delivered at least one bag of money to the bank. Police said shortly after the guard left the bank around 11:30 a.m., the gunman entered and ordered a teller to give him the money bag that had just been delivered. Police said the teller gave the money bag to the gunman, who walked out of the front door and escaped.
BURGLARY: Towson District -- Police reported that someone broke into Roscoe Detail Shop in the 1600 block of E. Joppa Road Tuesday evening and stole a 1986 Nissan. Yesterday evening, police said, the car was a found abandoned on a street in York, Pa. Police said the car was returned to the shop and that no arrest had been made.
Anne Arundel County
OFFICER ASSAULTED: Annapolis -- Police arrested an Annapolis resident early Monday outside the American Legion Hall on Forest Drive and charged him with disorderly conduct and assaulting an officer. Police said a security officer working at the hall reported that a man inside was armed with a handgun and was displaying it. When at least two officers arrived to investigate the complaint, they were directed by the security officer to a car parked on the lot and occupied by three men. While the officers were talking to the men and attempting to learn which one was armed, one of the men became disorderly and assaulted one of the officers. Police said Ephram W. Jones, 28, whose Annapolis address was not available, was arrested and charged. Bail information on Mr. Jones was not available. Police said the handgun was not recovered.
VANDALISM: Severn/Harmans -- Police reported that someone armed with a pellet gun shot out the windows of 19 cars Tuesday night while the vehicles were parked on streets in the Severn and Harmans areas. Police said the cars were parked on Strider Court, Baggins, Harmans and New Disney roads and Citadel, Macedonia and Champlain drives. Police said they had no witnesses to the shootings and that the cost of replacing the windows would exceed $2,000.
BURGLARY: Annapolis -- A resident of the 100 block of Lee Drive reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a door and stole cash and several pieces of stereo recording and receiving equipment. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,400.
BURGLARY: Davidsonville -- Police said tools of unknown value were stolen from a house in the 2500 block of Arbor Court after someone gained entry through a door.
Carroll County
BURGLARY/ARREST: Westminster -- Police arrested a soldier who was AWOL from his infantry unit at Fort Benning, Ga., and charged him with burglary. Police said Private Jason D. Greene, 19, was found sleeping inside a garage in the first block of Center St. Sunday morning by a police officer investigating an earlier break-in of the garage. Police said Mr. Greene, who also uses the name of Jason D. Meikrantz, was charged with burglary and malicious destruction of property. Following a bail hearing, he was remanded to the county Detention Center.
Howard County
BURGLARY: Columbia -- A resident of the 8700 block of Hayshed Lane reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend and stole several pieces of jewelry, a TV and stereo equipment. Police said several rooms in the house had been ransacked. The value of the property was not known.
