Hopkins defeats Emory, 10-3, then edges Washington, 6-4

COCOA, Fla. -- Johns Hopkins (7-1) stopped University Athletic Association rivals Emory University and Washington University yesterday.

Joe Tortorello had three hits and four RBI, and pitchers Willy Maddux and Joe Bushey combined to pitch a five-hitter in a 10-3 decision over Emory. A two-run seventh sealed the 6-4 victory over Washington. Jay Webber drove in one run and Dave Blair, who had three hits, walked with the bases loaded to pick up his third RBI.
