John Bradshaw to hold workshops in early April

Searching for your inner child? John Bradshaw is coming to the Baltimore Convention Center to help you find him or her.

Mr. Bradshaw is a self-help philosopher who mined his own unhappy childhood and struck gold. The author of three best sellers, Mr.Bradshaw also has two television series, "Bradshaw on: Homecoming" and "Bradshaw on: The Family." The former airs on Maryland Public Television on Sunday mornings (at 8:30) through Sunday.

Through his books, tapes and personal appearances, Mr. Bradshaw instructs others on how to confront their own troubled pasts in order to become healthy, happy adults.He'll be conducting a workshop and lecture series April 2 through April 5 at the convention center. The series begins with a lecture, "An Evening with John Bradshaw: Living in the Growth Process," at 7:30 p.m. April 2. A workshop, "Healing the Shame that Binds You," will be offered from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. April 3. A weekend workshop, "Homecoming: Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child," will be presented 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. April 4 and 5.

The event is sponsored by Hidden Brook, a local drug and alcohol treatment program. Participants may register for any one or all of the events by mail, phone or fax. Prices range from $20 for the April 2 lecture to $175 for the weekend workshop. For more information, call (800) 377-7770.
