ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Southern District -- Police said Tracy Harper remained hospitalized today after he was shot last night during a robbery. Police said Mr. Harper was in the 700 block of Reedbird Ave. around 8 p.m. when two men, one armed a handgun, robbed him of $50. As the robbers made their escape, the gunman turned and shot Mr. Harper in the leg and lower back. Police said he was taken by ambulance to Harbor Medical Center, where he was treated and admitted.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3600 block of Fernhill Ave. reported that someone broke into his home yesterday by forcing a side door and stole a large jar containing $300 in coins.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Police said a quantity of 10-gauge shotgun ammunition, of unknown value, was stolen from a house in the 3700 block of Overview Road after someone entered with a key.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested two men and were holding them at the station in the burglary of a house in the 3100 block of Keswick Road. Police said the pair was caught moments after they broke into the house through a rear window and stole a compact disc player and camera equipment.

ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police said two men entered the Erol's video store in the 400 block of E. 33rd St. and stole five blank VCR movie tapes valued at $100. Later, police arrested two men in the theft and were holding them at the station pending charges.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man reported he was in the 600 block of McCabe Ave. when he was attacked from behind by someone who stole his keys. Police said the thief got into the victim's Chevrolet van and drove off. Later, police recovered the van but had not made an arrest.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A woman walking in the 5300 block of York Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday was approached from behind by a man who placed a hard object against her back and robbed her of more than $50 in cash and $100 in food stamps.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man reported he was walking in the 3100 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday night when he was attacked by a man who struck him with fists and robbed him of a silver chain valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of the Phase 3 Nightclub in the 400 block of E. 32nd St. reported that someone entered the building early yesterday, apparently with a key, and stole a TV and a VCR of undetermined value.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 1000 block of Woodson Road reported that while his car was parked near his home yesterday morning, someone broke into the vehicle and stole a radio, compact disc player and stereo speakers, all valued at more than $700.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone apparently used a key to enter a dwelling in the 400 block of E. 28th St. early yesterday and steal a VCR and a TV, valued at $500.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- An out-of-town resident reported that as she entered a house in the 500 block of E. 35th St. around noon yesterday, a man followed her and robbed her of her purse, which contained cash and property valued at nearly $150.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A Morgan State University police officer reported he was riding in a campus patrol vehicle along Argonne Drive near the Northwood Shopping Center early yesterday when he saw a man carrying three aluminum ladders. When the man realized the officer had seen him, he dropped the ladders and fled. An investigation revealed that the ladders were stolen from the nearby Hechinger store, where police found that three other aluminum ladders had been removed from a rear storage area and placed on the ground.

ROBBERY TRY/SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Stanley Holmes reported he was in the first block of S. Pulaski St. around 8 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said when Mr. Holmes didn't comply fast enough, the gunman shot him, then fled. Mr. Holmes was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a minor gunshot wound and held for observation.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a 27-year-old man yesterday and charged him with assaulting a man with a gardening tool. Police said the victim, Gary Fant was in the 3200 block of Wilkens Ave. yesterday when he was attacked. An officer who was nearby arrived and arrested Darryl Deleston, of the 2200 block of E. Chase St. Police said Mr. Deleston was charged with aggravated assault and was held overnight in lieu of $25,000 bail following a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. employee reported he was seated in a company-owned truck stopped in the 1100 block of Walnut Ave. around 1:30 p.m. yesterday when he was approached by a man with a handgun who ordered him to give up his wallet. Police said that after the gunman removed more than $200, he returned the wallet to the victim, thanked him and ran away.

RAPE: Western District -- Police said a woman was walking in the 2500 block of Eutaw Place around 4:15 p.m. yesterday when she was stopped by a man who ordered her to take him to where he could buy drugs. A few moments later, the woman told police, the man pushed her into the doorway of a building and raped her. Police said the man escaped and the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.

RAPE: Western District -- A woman told police that she was in the 2300 block of Division St. around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was accosted by a man with a knife, who forced her into an alley and raped her. After the man escaped, the woman was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment and was released.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- Police today continued to seek a man who robbed the Maryland National Bank in the 600 block of Reisterstown Road yesterday of an undisclosed sum. They said a man with a handgun walked up to a teller at the drive-through window shortly after 9 a.m. and ordered her to keep her hands above the counter and to give him all the money in the cash drawer. Police said the teller handed over several hundred dollars and the gunman escaped on foot.

THEFTS: Cockeysville District -- Someone stole three outdoor cooking grills and a bike from three houses in the first block of White Pine Court Tuesday night or yesterday morning. Police said the property was valued at several hundred dollars.

BURGLARY: Cockeysville District -- A resident of the 10000 block of Hillgreen Circle reported that someone broke into his home through a rear window yesterday and stole a compact disc player and stereo equipment valued at $500.

Anne Arundel County

SEX ARRESTS: Annapolis -- Police attempting to cut down on the number of prostitutes and their customers that frequent a small section of the 200 block of West St. arrested four men who propositioned an undercover female officer. Police said the men were arrested separately by back-up male officers after they stopped and offered the woman money for sex. The arrests came after several citizens complained of prostitutes using the street to proposition men who stopped while driving by. Police said the men arrested late Monday night and early Tuesday were all from Annapolis and ranged in age from 23 to 39. Police said the arrests have caused several of the women to go elsewhere but that men continue to frequent the area.

DRUG ARREST: Annapolis -- After stopping a motorist for speeding in the 1700 block of Forest Drive around 2 a.m. Monday, police said, they found two partially rolled marijuana cigarettes in the ash tray and a book of matches containing cocaine in the car. The driver, Talmadge Brown, 44, of the 200 block of Eastern Ave. in Annapolis, was charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine. After an appearance before a District Court commissioner, Mr. Brown was released on his own recognizance.

DRUG ARRESTS: Annapolis -- Police arrested two men and charged them with possession of marijuana after they were seen holding bottles of beer while seated in a car. Police said the two men were in a parked car on Royal Street near Copeland Street around 1 a.m. Monday when an officer noticed they were in possession of alcoholic beverages, a violation of the state's open container law. A search of the car resulted in the seizing of a small bag of marijuana that was lying on the front seat. Charged with possession of marijuana and released on their own TC recognizance were Leonard Chew, 34, of the 900 block of Royal St., and Lawrence Mullen, 66, of the 1900 block of Copeland St.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- A resident of the 200 block of Dove Road reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a door and stole tools valued at nearly $500.

BURGLARY: Pasadena -- Tools valued at more than $400 were reported stolen from a dwelling in the 100 block of Virginia Ave. after someone entered through a door.

Carroll County

ARRESTS: Finksburg -- State Police arrested an 18-year-old man and a teen-ager and charged them with attempting to break into several lockers at 140 Mini-Storage. The two also were charged with damaging the lockers by spraying them with a fire extinguisher. Police responding to a burglar alarm around 9 p.m. Monday saw two males drive off on a blue motorcycle. Following a 5-mile pursuit down Old Westminster Pike to Sandymount Road, the men eluded capture, despite the use of a helicopter from the Frederick Barracks. Later, a resident of the 1700 block of Old Westminster Pike called police and reported that he let two men, who acted suspiciously, use his telephone. They used the phone and left the house. The two were located a short time later and arrested. Charged with breaking and entering the mini-storage lot, theft and malicious destruction of property was the adult, Ernst Lee Robertson Jr., of the first block of Sycamore St., Westminster. Police said Robertson was being held at the county detention center in lieu of $20,000 bail. The second person, a 17-year-old Westminster resident, was charged as a juvenile with the same offenses and released in the custody of his parents pending action by juvenile authorities.

Howard County

BURGLARY: Ellicott City -- Two men and a 15-year-old boy were arrested and charged with breaking into a convenience store on Town & Country Boulevard and attempting to steal property. Police responding to a burglar alarm early Sunday morning at the Royal Farm store in the 8700 block of Town & Country Boulevard said they found the front door open, the store's lights on and two men inside filling paper bags with cigarettes. Arrested at the scene were James F. Nagel 3rd, of the first block of Wade Ave. in Catonsville, and Robert W. Blackburn, 20, who lives in the same block as the store. Later, police learned that a 15-year-old also had broken into the store and arrested him at his home the next day. Police said the store's front door had not been secured properly when the business closed.

BURGLARY: Columbia -- A resident of the 6800 block of Happy Heart Lane reported that someone broke into his home and stole a VCR, jewelry, clothing and a camera, all valued at several hundred dollars.
