Edwin B. Gordon, a partner in one of the Eddie's Supermarkets and a former general manager of the franchise corporation using the name, died Monday at a hospital in Miami of congestive heart failure. He was 78.
Services for Mr. Gordon were being held today at Sol Levinson & Bros. funeral home, 6010 Reisterstown Road.
He had lived in Boynton Beach, Fla., for the past three years.
A native of Baltimore and a 1931 graduate of City College, he worked as a window trimmer and a cabdriver before entering the grocery business.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Florence Kabik; a daughter, Barbara Rostov of Newport News, Va.; his son, Jerry Gordon of Baltimore; a sister, Regina Girshin of Baltimore; and four granddaughters.
