STABBING: Southeastern District -- Police said a 22-year-old man was listed today in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after he was stabbed. Police said residents of a house in the 700 block of N. Lakewood Ave. heard someone banging on their front door shortly before 3 a.m. When they went outside, they found the man sitting on their porch. Homicide Detective Robert McAllister said the man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, had been stabbed in the back. He was unable to give police any details of the incident. Police followed a trail of blood for more than a block but were unable to locate the scene of the attack.
SHOOTING: Western District -- Travis Player, 20, of the 2300 block of W. North Ave., told police he was riding a bike in the 2000 block of Bryant Ave. shortly before 2 a.m. yesterday when he was shot as he rode past an alley. Police said a man standing in the alley shot Mr. Player in the lower right back. Police said Mr. Player was found lying face down in the street by police responding to a report of a shooting. He was taken by ambulance to the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center, where he was listed today in serious condition. No arrest had been made.
THEFT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the Freeland section of northern Baltimore County reported that while his 1990 Toyota was parked in the 900 block of Caton Ave., someone broke into the vehicle through a vent window and stole a mobile telephone. Police said the property was valued at $500.
THEFT: Southwestern District -- Police said someone broke into a truck parked in the 3000 block of Lyttleton Road over the weekend and stole a battery. Police said the battery was valued at $70. The truck is owned by a company with offices in the 1500 block of Sulphur Spring Road.
THEFT: Southwestern District -- Employees of Westside Auto Sales in the 2900 block of Wilkens Ave. reported that someone broke into a car while it was parked on the lot and stole equipment valued at $200.
THEFT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Arbutus Ave. told police his car was parked in the 1000 block of WilsoDrive over the weekend when someone broke into the vehicle and stole a stereo radio and other items. Police said the property was valued at more than $500.
ASSAULT: Northern District -- A resident of the 4200 block of Ivanhoe Ave. reported he and a woman he knows were arguing in front of his house around 9 p.m. Saturday when the woman cut him on the face and hands with a knife. Police said the man was not seriously injured and refused medical treatment. The woman fled the scene and was being sought by police.
THEFT: Northern District -- A 24-year-old resident of New York reported that while her 1981 Toyota was parked in the 500 block of E. 42nd St. over the weekend someone broke into the vehicle and stole a pair of mountain climbing shoes and several other pieces of property. Police said the property was valued at nearly $400.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police said someone entered the bedroom of a house in the 2400 block of W. Cold Spring Lane between Feb. 15 and yesterday and stole several pieces of jewelry. Police said rings, chains and other pieces of jewelry stolen were valued at more than $2,400.
ASSAULT/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested two men and were holding them at the station pending charges they pointed a handgun at a resident of the 3200 block of Woodland Ave. during an incident Saturday in the 2500 block of Loyola Southway. Police said the victim was not injured. The suspects were to appear at a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 6400 block of Chinquapin Parkway and stole a VCR, camera and a photographic lens. Police said the property was valued at nearly $1,700 and that the break-in occurred between March 5 and yesterday.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 500 block of Crestline Drive reported that someone broke into his car during the weekend while it was parked in the 3700 block of Keswick Road and stole tapes, a compact disc player and other items. Police said the property was valued at more than $500.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 6000 block of The Alameda reported that someone stole a check made out to him for more than $900 and cashed it in Washington. Police said the check was stolen last month and cashed recently.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $200 was stolen from a car while it was parked in the 2700 block of N. Howard St. The owner of the car, a resident of the 2700 block, told police the thief escaped with a suit, cassette tapes and keys. Police said entry was gained by breaking one of the vehicle's windows.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police said that during the weekend a radar detector was stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of Goodwood Gardens. The owner of the car, a resident of eastern Baltimore County, told police the radar detector was valued at $100.
LARCENIES: Northern District -- Police said three people reported property was stolen from their lockers at the athletic building at Johns Hopkins University during the weekend. Police said the lockers were forced open. Police said a swimsuit, eyeglasses, keys and other items, all valued at more than $300, was taken from one locker. From another locker, the thief stole pants and a wallet containing cash, credit cards and identification cards. The third victim reported a pair of pants were taken from his locker. Police said all the thefts occurred yesterday evening between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Wawa convenience store in the 5700 block of Belair Road reported that someone broke into the building during the weekend and used a set of keys kept hidden inside the store to open the safe. Police said several hundred dollars in cash was taken.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- A taxi driver who lives in the 5200 block of Loch Raven Blvd. reported that someone broke into his cab over the weekend while the vehicle was parked near his home and stole the trip meter. Police said the equipment was valued at more than $300.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Grindon Ave. told police that someone broke into his garage in the 4300 block of Marble Hall Road between Feb. 20 and yesterday and stole tools valued at several hundred dollars. Police said entry was gained by breaking a garage door panel.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police said a resident of the 4200 block of Nicholas Ave. was walking near his home late Saturday night when he was accosted from behind by a man who knocked him to the ground and robbed him of nearly $100 in cash.
STABBING: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a woman yesterday evening and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central District pending charges of assault in connection with the cutting of Frederick Jenkins, of the 1800 block of Freedomway North. Police said Mr. Jenkins and a 33-year-old woman were arguing inside the man's house around 6 p.m. yesterday when the woman stabbed Mr. Jenkins in the upper left thigh with a knife. Police said the woman was arrested a short time later and that Mr. Jenkins was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the Valu Food market in the 4200 block of Frankford Ave. arrested a 53-year-old man who attempted to leave the store without paying for several bottles of deodorant. Police said the property was valued at nearly $31 and was recovered from the man by a store security officer. Police said the man, held overnight at the Eastern District station, faces charges of theft and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4600 block of Clareway reported that someone entered his home over the weekend and stole his Browning .38 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Police said the weapon was valued at nearly $400 and that a relative of the victim's is being sought in connection with the theft.
ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 3400 block of Spelman Road in Cherry Hill reported he was walking in the 2500 block of Hanover St. shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked from behind by a man who threw him to the ground and robbed him of his money. Police said the man robbed the victim of nearly $100 in cash and escaped.
THEFT: Southern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a car parked in the 1100 block of Sharp St. during the weekend and stole a pair of prescription sunglasses. The owner of the car, an out-of-state resident, said the glasses were valued at nearly $200.

ARMED ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- Police reported a man armed with an handgun robbed the Royal Farm store in the 4300 block of Washington Blvd. yesterday. Police said a man entered the store shortly after 3:30 p.m. and walked up to the counter. He pulled out a handgun and ordered the clerk to give him the contents of the cash register. After taking an undisclosed sum of cash, the gunman ran out the front door and escaped.
ARMED ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- A resident Arbutus reported she was walking across a parking lot near the 4700 block of Westland Blvd. early yesterday when she was stopped by a man wearing a bandanna over his face who pointed a gun at her and forced her to give up her purse.
BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- A resident of the 5400 block of Bangert St. reported that someone broke into his home during the weekend and stole property valued at more than $1,000. Polie said entry was gained through a basement window and that the thief escaped with stereo equipment, a VCR and a compact disc player.
THEFT: White Marsh District -- Police said someone broke into a vehicle parked in the 6900 block of Belair Road during the weekend and stole a CB radio. Police said the radio was valued at $300 and that entry was gained by breaking a window that cost $200 to replace.
Anne Arundel County
SHOOTING/ARREST: Severn -- Police arrested one man and were seeking two others in connection with the shooting early yesterday of a 19-year-old Southeast Washington man. Police said Jeremiah Wanamaker, of the 3100 block of Stanton Road, was talking on an outside telephone in the 1800 block of Richfield Drive around 4:30 a.m. Sunday when three men, two armed with handguns, approached. Police said the two armed men fired at Mr. Wanamaker, striking him at least once in the leg. After the gunmen and their accomplice fled the scene, two friends of the victim's who were seated in a nearby parked car drove him to North Arundel Hospital. There, Mr. Wanamaker's condition was stabilized before he was transferred to the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center in Baltimore, where today he was listed in stable condition. Shortly after the shooting, police arrested Ramon L. Edwards, 21, of the 1600 block of St. Margaret's Road in Annapolis, and charged him with assault by shooting and related handgun offenses. Police said a 19-year-old resident of the 1800 block of Arwell Court in Severn and an unknown teen-ager are being sought.
