Petros,
Petros, 136 W. 25th St., (410) 235-8500. Food is, indeed, the main drawing card at this small Greek restaurant just off Howard Street. But there are other attractions: good prices, friendly service, a well-executed Greek village decor. The menu is small, by local Greek restaurant standards, and the prices are handwritten. But what Petros does well, it does very well. I particularly enjoyed the appetizer, mezes ($4.50), two good-sized spinach and cheese pies wrapped in phyllo. These delicately prepared "pies" combined the cheese and spinach -- unusual and unusually good. $$ -- moderate. (Last visited 2/92). Lorraine's, 9637 Reisterstown Road, (410) 356-1616. Lorraine's, offering fun food with a healthy twist, is the kind of restaurant you want to love; but the execution doesn't live up to the promising menu. It specializes in imaginative 10-inch pizzas, homemade pastas and grills. Only the Belgian chocolate pizza, though, showed us what the kitchen could produce if it got its act together. $$ -- moderate. (Last visited 2/92.)
ELIZABETH LARGE New No Da Ji, 2501-2503 N. Charles St., 235-4846. No Da Ji used to be on Maryland Avenue in a basement. It has moved to larger rooms at 25th and Charles, where Love's Restaurant passed a great many years. The old No Da Ji served intriguing, lively Korean food. So does the new one: silken sashimi, a gorgeous, chokingly hot "pork marinated in special sauce," hot pepper, onion and oyster pancakes, an intriguing cold fish salad served with a raucous garlic mustard sauce, and, off the menu, a nutritious salad of seaweed. $$ -- moderate.
