Hockey

NHL -- Suspended Detroit Red Wings RW Bob Probert for three games for swinging his stick at St. Louis Blues D Garth Butcher in a game Feb. 29. Probert will begin serving his suspension March 13, unless the Red Wings waive the period of appeal.
