CROCKER HONORED

David Crocker of Annapolis has made the honor roll for his academic achievements during the second marking period at St. Thomas More School, in Oakdale, Conn.

ON STAGE AT HOOD

Desiree N. Mash of Glen Burnie will appear in the Hood Theatre spring production of "David and Lisa," at Hood College, Frederick.

She will play the role of the secretary to the school psychiatrist. The play will run for three nights, April 2 to 4 in Brodbeck Music Hallon campus.

Adapted from the 1962 movie, "David and Lisa" is the story of two mentally disturbed young people.

Mash, a sophomore, has served as a class senator and is a member of the Student Rights Committee. She is a 1990 graduate of Andover Senior High School, where she was senior class president and a member of both the drama club andthe human relations committee.

YOUTH IS TOP DEBATER

Mukund Krishnaswami, a senior at Mount St. Joseph High School, competed in the Harvard University National High School National Forensics Tournament, Feb. 14-18, placing third.

In the Lincoln/Douglas Debate, he won three of his preliminary rounds to reach the round of 64, in a field ofmore than 250 debaters.

In oratory, he defeated many of the country's top competitors to reach the finals.

NEWS FROM ST. MARY'S

St.Mary's senior class president Don Cipriani is a state finalist in the Shell Century Three competition.

Seniors Steve Arnold, Robin Honan, Michael Key and Eva Ramey attended the Baltimore Area Council on Foreign Affairs seminar at the World Trade Center in

Baltimore Feb. 5. R.J. Altman and Cipriani will represent St. Mary's at the Regional Citizen's Bee Competition in March.

RAY GETS ASSISTANTSHIP

Joseph Benson Ray IV of Pasadena has been awarded a graduate assistantship to Salisbury State University. He is pursuing a master of arts degree in English and will teach freshman English.

A 1986 graduate of Chesapeake High School, he graduated from Salisbury State in 1990. Asa student there, he earned the Salisbury State Program Board Award, and worked with the Scarab, the school's literary magazine.
