BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2200 block of Rogene Drive reported that someone broke into his home Tuesday after cutting a hole in the screen of a third-floor door. Police said several rooms were ransacked and that it was not immediately known if any property was taken.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3800 block of Belvieu Ave. told police he was outside his home Tuesday night when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, who robbed him of his wallet, containing $20 in cash, and his keys. Police said the armed man and his accomplice then got into the victim's 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass and drove off.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police said a resident of the 4800 block of Beaufort Ave. reported that during an incident in the 6200 block of Northwood Drive around 7 a.m. yesterday, a man attacked him and struck him several times with a baseball bat. Police said Kelvin Smith sustained an eye injury and was taken to an area hospital for treatment and released. Later, police arrested a man in connection with the assault and were holding him at the station pending charges.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Keyworth Ave. reported that someone broke into her home yesterday through a window and stole several pieces of electronic equipment. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,100.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police reported that two out-of-town residents were walking in the 3000 block of Ellerslie Ave. yesterday afternoon when they were stopped by a man armed with a handgun who demanded their money. Police said the two men complied, giving the gunman an undisclosed sum of cash.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said property valued at more than $150 was stolen from a doctor's office in the 5800 block of York Road. Police said a cordless telephone and an answering machine were stolen after someone gained entry after breaking a door lock. Police said the break-in occurred between Monday and yesterday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 800 block of Druid Park Lake Drive reported that someone broke into his home between Tuesday night and yesterday morning and stole a safe and other pieces of property. Police said the items were valued at more than $600 and that entry was gained through a second-floor window.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that someone forcibly entered a dwelling in the 2500 block of Park Heights Terrace yesterday and stole a 27-inch TV and a stereo system. Police said entry was gained through a door and that the property was valued at nearly $800. The owner of the property told police he suspects a man he knows of stealing the property.

ARRESTS: Western District -- Police reported that an officer was in the 1800 block of Bruce St. around 2 p.m. yesterday when he spotted two men about to rob a third man. Police said Officer Sean White confronted the two men and arrested them at gunpoint. The victim, a resident of Westwood Ave., was not injured. Police said the suspects were held overnight at the station pending attempted robbery charges and a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner.

CUTTING/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the station pending charges that he cut a woman on the hands with a knife during an argument Tuesday night inside the woman's home in the 500 block of N. Brice St. Police said Venessa Pugh was arguing with a man she knows when he pulled out a knife and slashed at her face. Police said when Ms. Pugh threw up her hands in defense, she was cut. She was treated at an area hospital for lacerations of both hands and released. Later, the man was arrested and was expected to be charged with aggravated assault and using a deadly weapon in the commission of a crime.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported a man armed with a sawed-off shotgun forced his way into the cashier's booth of a service station in the 2400 block of W. Franklin St. and stole an undisclosed sum of money. Police said a man carrying a bag approached the booth around 3 a.m. yesterday and pulled out the weapon. Police said the man ordered the female cashier to open the door. When she refused and fell to the floor to avoid being shot, the man broke into the booth and placed the muzzle of the weapon to the woman's head and threatened to kill her if she didn't give up the money in the cash register. Police said the gunman fled the scene after the woman gave him the contents of the cash register.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police said Paul Hardy, of Druid Park Lake Drive, was admitted to an area hospital early yesterday after he was shot in the leg by a man who attempted to rob him. Police said Mr. Hardy was in the 2400 block of Reisterstown Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. when he was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who demanded he give up his money. Police said that when Mr. Hardy turned and ran, the gunman shot him. Police said the gunman escaped and that Mr. Hardy was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken leg, caused when the bullet shattered the bone. Police said Mr. Hardy was unable to identify the man who shot him.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said a deliveryman for a distributing firm was in the 1600 block of W. Lafayette Ave. shortly before noon yesterday when he was accosted by two men known to him who robbed him of 30 cartons of cigarettes. The deliveryman, an employee, of Triple C Wholesalers in the 2700 block of Loch Raven Blvd., told police the cigarettes were valued at $600.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of Westwood Ave. reported she was walking in the 1800 block of Mosher St. around 7 a.m. yesterday when she was approached from behind by two men who shoved her aside and stole the purse she was carrying. Police said the men escaped with cash and property, all valued at $50.

ASSAULTS: Western District -- Police today were seeking a man in connection with the cutting of two women during an incident inside a house in the first block of Wheeler Ave. Police said the women, Gwendolyn Martin and Tylea Ball, both of the Wheeler Avenue address, sustained minor lacerations.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said two men, one armed with a handgun, accosted a resident of Druid Hill Ave. as he walked in the 1600 block of Retreat St. around 8 p.m. yesterday and forced him to give up his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice escaped with $12 in cash.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- Police said two men, one armed with an Uzi semi-automatic weapon and the other with what appeared to be a 9mm or .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, entered Charley Rudo Sports in the 8600 block of Liberty Road shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday and forced at least two employees to lay face down on the floor. After taking an undisclosed sum of money from a cash register, the armed men ran out the front door and escaped.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A resident of the 3500 block of Langrehr Road told police he was about to enter his apartment shortly before 7:30 p.m. yesterday when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a silver-colored handgun, who robbed him of his watch and gold chain. Police said the armed man and his accomplice escaped on foot.

Anne Arundel County

ROBBERY: Glen Burnie -- Police today continue their search for three men who assaulted and robbed a pizza shop delivery man yesterday evening in the Morris Hills section. Police said a 25-year-old employee of Domino's pizza was making a delivery in the 6400 block of Miami Ave. shortly after 10 p.m. yesterday when he was accosted by three men, one armed with a handgun, after they stepped out from behind some bushes. After robbing the delivery man, the three men forced him back into his car and ordered him to drive off. After arriving at a public park near the Arundel Corporation, the three men got out of the vehicle and escaped on foot, leaving the victim inside his car. Police said the delivery an, a Brooklyn Park resident who works full time as a brick layer, returned to the pizza shop and reported the robbery. Police said each of the suspects was in his mid-20s and that all wore dark clothing. Police said the gunman had two gold front teeth.

THEFT/ARREST: Annapolis -- Police reported that a 16-year-old Annapolis-area youth was released in the custody of his mother after being charged with stealing several pieces of clothing from the Gap store at Market Square over the weekend. The youth, who was charged as a juvenile, was caught by several passersby while being chased by an employee of the store. Police said after the youth placed three pairs of shorts, two shirts and two pairs of pants on the store's check-out counter, he grabbed the items and ran out the door. At Prince George and Randall streets, the youth was caught by several people, including a man who identified himself as an off-duty U.S. Secret Service agent. Police said all the items of apparel were recovered. A knife found on the youth was turned over to police.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- A resident of the 800 block of Cleveland Road reported that someone broke into his home and stole a power lawnmower. Police said the lawnmower was valued at more than $100 and that entry into the house was through a door.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police said jewelry valued at $800 was stolen from a dwelling in the 7900 block of Nolpark Court after someone entered by forcing a door.

THEFT: Annapolis -- Police reported that someone entered an electronics store in the 1900 block of West St. over the weekend and stole more than $1,100 worth of stereo recording and rTC receiving equipment. Police said te thief entered Hi-Tech Electronics late Sunday night through an unlocked door that led to a rear storage room. After stealing a compact disc player, several equalizers and other stereo equipment, the thief escaped through the same door.

BURGLARY: Brooklyn Park -- A resident of the 200 block of Old Line Ave. reported that $200 in cash was stolen from his home after someone gained entry by forcing a door.

Carroll County

STABBING/ARREST: Westminster -- City police said a 20-year-old woman, who was charged with the weekend stabbing of her boyfriend's sister, has been released after posting bail. Police said Lora C. Livesay, a resident of the first block of Sullivan Ave., was at home and involved in an argument with a woman when she picked up a knife and attempted to stab her. Instead, police said, Ms. Livesay stabbed Dorothy Costley, 23, of Westminster, in the arm, who with her brother was attempting to break up the argument. Police said Ms. Costley was treated at Carroll County General Hospital and released. Police said Ms. Livesay was arrested at the scene and charged with assault, battery, reckless endangerment and possession and use of a deadly weapon. No trial date has been set, police said.

Howard County

BURGLARY: Columbia -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 9000 block of Blue Pool and stole a VCR, TV and a radio. Police said the value of the property was not immediately available and that entry into the house was by someone throwing a brick through a window in a door then unlocking the door.
