State anti-drug panel sets hearing at Poly

A public hearing on drug-related crime and violence in the Baltimore metropolitan region will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, 1400 W. Cold Spring Lane.

The Crime Control Committee of the Governor's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission will take testimony from Baltimore City and Baltimore County residents at the two-hour hearing.

"We want to offer a plan that has been formulated from the local level up, rather than from the state on down," said Dr. Neil Solomon, chairman of the commission.

The hearing is the second in a series of five regional hearings scheduled through June.

To testify, interested parties must register prior to the hearing. For information, call the city state's attorney's office at 396-1897.
