SHOOTING: Eastern District -- Calvin Taylor, 15, was listed in critical condition today at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after he was caught in the cross-fire between two gunman in the 1100 block of N. Collington Ave. shortly after 2 a.m. yesterday. Police said the youth was shot in the back, neither gunman was wounded and both fled when Taylor fell to the street.

SHOOTING/ARREST: Eastern District -- Police arrested a 61-year-old man yesterday and charged him with shooting his girlfriend during an argument at their home in the 2400 block of Barclay St. The accused, police said, also tried to shoot a man but the gun misfired. Police said the victim, Mary Foye, 39, was shot twice in the left side with a .22-caliber handgun and was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was listed in good condition today. Police said that during the argument, the suspect pointed the handgun at George Nicholson, 40, also of the 2400 block of Barclay St., but the gun failed to fire. Arrested at the scene and charged with the attempted murder of Ms. Foye, assault with a handgun and using a handgun in the commission of a felony was James Gilbert Browder, who was held overnight at the station lockup pending a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the first block of S. Paca St. reported she was walking near her home yesterday afternoon when she was stopped by three men, one with a handgun, who robbed her of her purse containing cash and property valued at nearly $50.

ROBBERY TRY: Central District -- A Baltimore County woman was walking in the 700 block of Cathedral St. shortly before 8 p.m. yesterday when she was accosted by four men who demanded her money while one of them pressed a knife to her side. Police reported that when the woman told the men she had no money, they ran away.

ROBBERY: Central District -- An out-of-town resident was walking in the 400 block of N. Eutaw St. shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday when two men robbed her of her purse, which contained cash, a 24-hour bank card and other property, all valued at more than $400. Police said one man pressed a knife to the victim's neck during the robbery.

ASSAULT: Central District -- Police today were seeking two men who attacked a resident of the 1600 block of Myrtle Ave. around 8 p.m. yesterday and beat him with their fists after hitting him with a bottle. Police said the victim was not seriously injured.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man walking in the 3000 block of Remington Ave. Friday afternoon was stopped by a man who asked him for change, then pulled out a knife and robbed him of $20.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 500 block of W. University Parkway reported that someone broke into a house he owns in the 2800 block of Maryland Ave. over the weekend. Police said several rooms had been ransacked but it was not immediately known if any property had been taken.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at more than $900 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 2800 block of Remington Ave. after someone got in over the weekend through an unlocked rear door. Police said the burglar escaped with a coat, a watch and a ring.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of Dimitri's Liquors in the 3800 block of Falls Road reported that someone broke into the building between Thursday and Saturday and stole several cases of liquor. Police said the property was valued at more than $340 and that entry was gained by removing a wire mesh screen from a window.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A woman walking in the 5800 block of York Road Saturday night was attacked from behind by a man who knocked her to the ground and stole her purse, which contained nearly $20 and personal property.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone broke into a 1990 Jeep parked in the 3300 block of Guilford Ave. Saturday afternoon and stole a cellular telephone valued at $300.

THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of the Greenspring Dairy in the 2700 block of Loch Raven Blvd. reported that someone used a fork-lift to remove several cases of orange juice, valued at more than $200, from the warehouse.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 600 block of Baker St. reported that someone broke into her home through a rear kitchen window over the weekend and stole a TV, telephone answering machine and food, all valued at more than $400.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A woman walking in the 1700 block of W. Lanvale St. early Saturday was accosted by a man who struck her with a handgun and robbed her of a bottle of beer she was carrying.

DTC ROBBERY: Western District -- A man was robbed of $20 early Saturday when he was attacked by another man in the 2200 block of N. Fulton Ave. and knocked to the ground but was not injured.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man with a handgun accosted a woman about noon Saturday as she walked in the 1000 block of Parrish St. The victim told police the man robbed her of $70.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1900 block of W. Lexington St. reported that someone broke a lock off a door to enter her home over the weekend and stole $50.

THEFT: Western District -- Over the weekend someone broke into a car parked in the 2100 block of Baker St. and stole a CB

radio.

CHURCH BURGLARY: Western District -- Members of the St. Matthew Holiness Church in the 1100 block of W. Baltimore St. reported that someone broke into the building through a rear door over the weekend and stole an electric heater valued at nearly $50.

GUN THEFT: Western District -- The owner of a grocery store in the 2500 block of Madison Ave. reported that between Thursday and Saturday, someone entered the store and stole a .380 semiautomatic handgun from behind the counter. Police said the weapon was valued at nearly $270.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a building in the 100 block of N. Poppleton St. over the weekend and stole a wrought-iron gate valued at $500.

SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- A man was treated and released at St. Agnes Hospital after being shot in the leg early yesterday by a man who accosted him in the 600 block of Lyndhurst Ave. Police said they had no motive for the shooting and no arrest.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A woman told police she was walking in the 700 block of Mount Holly St. early yesterday evening when a man came up behind her and stole her purse, which contained cash and property of undetermined value.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at $500 was stolen from a dwelling in the 4700 block of Frederick Road Saturday after someone got in by removing a pane of glass from a door.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 800 block of Glen Allen Drive reported that a VCR valued at nearly $300 was stolen from her home over the weekend after someone got in through the basement door.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into a dwelling in the 700 block of Hunting Place over the weekend and stole property valued at $500. Police said the thief escaped with a ring and a coat and that entry was gained by forcing the basement door.

THEFT: Southern District -- A resident of Ashton, Montgomery County, reported that while her car was parked in the 1100 block of S. Howard St. Saturday night and yesterday morning, someone broke into it and stole an AM-FM cassette radio and two coats of undetermined value.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- Two men, one with a sawed-off shotgun and the other with a handgun, robbed a woman of her basketball warm-up jacket and $20 early yesterday in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road. Police said her male companion was robbed of $30.

Baltimore County

BURGLARY: Towson District -- Someone broke into several businesses in an office building at 219 W. Joppa Road over the weekend and stole an undisclosed sum of petty cash. Police said the offices of at least five firms were entered and ransacked. Also over the weekend, someone broke into the Cranston Building in the 300 block of Towsontown Blvd. and stole property of unknown value.

Anne Arundel County

DRUG ARRESTS: Glen Burnie -- Police assigned to the Special Operations Squad raided a house in the 100 block of New Jersey Ave. and arrested five people on drug charges. Police said the raid occurred last week following a lengthy surveillance. They said each was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Seized during the Wednesday night raid were three grams of cocaine, one gram of marijuana and paraphernalia. Police identified those arrested as Peter A. Claravella, 32, and Barbara Ann Claravella, 24, both residents of the raided house. Also, Francis Matthew Claravella, 33, of the 100 block of Allegany Road in Stevensville, Queen Anne's County; Karen Lee Nobles, 26, of the 200 block of Ulman Road in Pasadena; and William Raymond James Bianco, 29, of the 7400 block of Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie.

ROBBERY TRY: Annapolis -- A man with an unloaded handgun attempted to rob a service station last week. Police said a man wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and a blue baseball cap entered the Amoco service station in the 3000 block of Forest Drive and demanded money from the attendant while pointing a silver-colored handgun at him. When the gun's cylinder fell open and the attendant noticed there were no bullets in it, he told the gunman he was going to call police. When the attendant picked up the telephone, the gunman fled out the door and escaped.
