SHOOTING: Central District -- Police reported an unidentified man was listed today in serious but stable condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after he was shot five times by a gunman inside an apartment building in the 1400 block of Division St. Homicide Detective Walter Akers said the man was shot in both legs, the stomach and a hand shortly after 10 p.m. and was found at the foot of a set of steps near the basement by Central District officers responding to a report of a shooting. Detective Akers said a motive for the shooting was not known and that no arrests had been made.
SHOOTING: Northern District -- Police today were seeking a man who shot a 51-year-old man with a semiautomatic weapon during an altercation yesterday evening outside the victim's home. Police said Vincent Adams was home shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday when he heard someone shouting outside his house. Leaving his house, Mr. Adams told police he saw several men assaulting his son, Donnell Adams, 21. Police said when the elder Adams intervened and tried to break up the fight, one of the men pulled out a semiautomatic weapon and fired several shots at him. Shot in the left forearm, the father was helped back into his home by his son. Police said Vincent Adams was taken by ambulance to Sinai Hospital, where he was treated for a minor gunshot wound and released.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3100 block of N. Calvert St. reported that a man he knows entered his apartment with a key between Wednesday night and yesterday morning and stole two 19-inch TVs. Police said the property was valued at $800.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a 1981 Ford pickup truck while it was parked in the 2700 block of Hunter St. yesterday and stole a circular saw and sewer cleaning equipment. Police said the owner of the truck, a resident of the 2700 block of N. Howard St., said the property was valued at more than $300.
THEFT: Northern District -- The owner of a 1987 British Sterling reported that while the vehicle was parked in the 5600 block of York Road yesterday, someone removed all four of the vehicle's tires and wheels.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that tools were stolen from a vehicle Wednesday afternoon while it was parked in the 2600 block of Shirley Ave. The owner of the car, a resident of the 7600 block of Daniels Ave., reported the tools were valued at more than $1,400.
THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of Blockbuster Video in the 5900 block of York Road reported that two men entered the store late yesterday evening and fled moments later with three video cassettes of recent movies. Police said the cassettes were valued at more than $250.
THEFT : Southern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of S. Charles St. reported that while his truck was parked in the first block of E. Gittings St. over the weekend, someone broke into the vehicle and stole several hand and power tools. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,500.
THEFT: Western District -- Police reported that someone broke into a truck owned by F.A. Davis, a distributing company in the 100 block of S. Paca St., while it was parked in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. and stole nearly 300 cartons of cigarettes.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1900 block of W. Lexington St. told police that someone broke into her home between Wednesday night and yesterday morning and stole a 13-inch TV and a 19-inch TV. Police said the property was valued at nearly $1,200 and that entry was gained through a rear door.
SHOOTING: Western District -- Police said a Woodlawn man was listed today in good condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after he was shot during an incident in the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Ave. early yesterday. Police said Bryant West, of the 6700 block of Wilmont Drive, was accosted about 5 a.m. yesterday by another man, who pulled out a handgun and shot him in the right leg.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Employees of the Joseph L. Russ Funeral Home in the 2200 block of W. North Ave. reported that someone broke into the building yesterday and stole a console telephone. Police said the telephone was valued at $300 and that entry was gained through the front door.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Members of the Progressive Club Association in the 100 block of S. Calverton Road reported that someone broke into the building by forcing a door and stole property valued at nearly $2,000.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 3700 block of Colborne Road reported he was walking near his home Wednesday night when he was struck from behind and robbed of his wallet by two men. Police said the men escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $50.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police said a man walking in the 4400 block of Old Frederick Road early yesterday was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim, a resident of the 2500 block of St. Paul St., reported that the gunman escaped with more than $300.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police said two men, one armed with what appeared to be a 9mm semiautomatic handgun, stopped a resident of the 700 block of Edgewood St. as he walked in the 600 block of N. Denison St. yesterday evening and robbed him of his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice escaped with cash and property, all valued at nearly $240.
THEFT: Southern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a Toyota pickup truck while the vehicle was parked in the 1300 block of E. Fort Ave. yesterday and stole several hand and power tools. Police said the property was valued at nearly $2,000 and that entry was gained by breaking a lock off the vehicle's cap.
THEFT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the first block of White Ash Court in eastern Baltimore County reported that someone broke into his truck Tuesday while it was parked in the 200 block of Key Highway and stole more than $300, stereo speakers and several tools. Police said the property had a total value of $700. In a related incident, a resident of the 800 block of S. Milton Ave. reported his pickup truck also was parked in the 200 block of Key Highway Tuesday when it was broken into by someone who stole field glasses, a jacket and several tools. Police said the property was valued at nearly $600.
BURGLARY: Southern District -- Police said someone entered a home in the 900 block of Bayard St. yesterday afternoon and stole property valued at $2,000. Police said entry was gained with a key.

BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- A resident of the 9200 block of Nottingham Road reported that someone broke into his garage by breaking a window and stole property valued at nearly $3,000. Police said the break-in occurred between Wednesday night and yesterday morning.
MURDER TRY/ARREST: Essex District -- Police yesterday afternoon arrested a 16-year-old resident of the 200 block of Langley Road and were holding him at the station pending a charge of attempted murder in the cutting of a female resident of the house during an incident there about 1 p.m. Police said the victim, a 40-year-old woman whose name was not immediately available, was cut several times with a blade from an electric knife and was admitted to Franklin Square Hospital. Her condition was not known. Police said the suspect was expected to be charged with attempted murder. The relationship between the youth and the woman was not immediately available.
ROBBERY: Essex District -- An Essex man reported he was walking out of a Royal Farm store in the 300 block of Back River Neck Road shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a unknown hard object, who robbed him of his money. The victim, a resident of the 600 block of Brighton Manor Drive, told police the two men escaped with more than $100.
BURGLARY: Essex District -- Officials of the Chesapeake Village Apartments reported that someone broke into a vacant apartment in the first block of Cypress Drive yesterday and stole the wall-to-wall carpet from a bedroom. Police said the carpeting was valued at $900 and that entry was gained by using a tool to twist and remove the doorknob.
THEFT: Essex District -- An employee of D&D; Vending in the 9700 block of Pulaski Highway reported that someone entered his company-owned truck while it was parked in the first block of Lynnbrook Road and broke into a safe. Police said the thief stole an undisclosed sum after using a tool to remove part of the safe's door.

ROBBERY/ARREST: Glen Burnie -- Police early yesterday arrested a man and charged him with the robbery of a pizza deliveryman in the 7700 block of West Drive. Police said Herbert A. Hatfield, 20, of no fixed address, surrendered himself to police at the Eastern District and was being held at the county detention center pending a bail review hearing today in District Court. Police said a deliveryman for Pastore's Pizza in the 3800 block of Mountain Road in Pasadena was seated in his car before delivering a food order to a customer in the 7700 block of West Drive about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday when a man wearing dark clothing opened the car door and robbed him of a bag containing an undisclosed sum. Police said the man ran toward a nearby apartment complex. A K-9 unit joined the search and followed tracks to a specific apartment, whose occupants told police that a man fitting the robber's description had been there before and after the robbery. Police said the suspect was being sought in connection with the robbery when he walked into the Eastern District station shortly after 1 a.m. yesterday and surrendered.
RAPE/ROBBERY: Annapolis -- Police today continued their search for a man who raped and robbed a 19-year-old Severna Park woman Tuesday. Police said the victim was raped and assaulted at an undisclosed location for at least two hours by the man who also robbed her of a diamond ring valued at $5,000 and ruby ring worth more than $2,000. Following the incident, the woman was taken to the Anne Arundel Medical Center for injuries before being released.
ROBBERY: Brooklyn Park -- Police said two men, each armed with a handgun, robbed the Burger King fast-food outlet at Ritchie Highway and 16th Street last night of an undisclosed sum. Police said the men entered the eating place shortly after 9 p.m. and ordered two employees working in the back to the floor. Police said that while one man acted as a lookout, the other went to an unlocked safe and removed the money. Both robbers escaped, running toward Morgan Road.
BURGLARY: Annapolis -- A resident of the 200 block of Hilltop Lane reported that someone broke into her home Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and stole property valued at $600. Among the items taken in the burglary were a necklace valued at $140, a camera valued at $200 and a gold bracelet.
ROBBERY: Parole -- Police reported a man armed with a handgun entered the Stride Rite shoe store at Parole Plaza about noon Tuesday and ordered the cashier to give him the contents of the cash register. Before the man fled with an undisclosed sum, police said he forced the cashier and another employee into the store's restroom.
