How would you describe your taste in clothing?

Very conservative, but I do have a flair for bright colored sportswear and golfing attire.

What's the newest thing in your closet?

A navy blue turtleneck for golf, which I purchased at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, and two ties which I bought in Williamsburg.

What's the oldest thing in your closet?

A herringbone sport coat that is still in style.

Do you have a true "standby" that you wear to feel good and look good when you're in doubt?

I love attending formal weddings and affairs because it gives me an opportunity to wear a tuxedo. I always feel comfortable in a tux and have collected a number of cummerbunds and ties to add a little color and variety. I wear my black watch pants with my tux jacket each year when I attend the St. Andrews Society Dinner.

What have you held on to for sentimental reasons?

I still have an Eddie Jacobs sport coat which my wife, Virginia, gave me more than 30 years ago. At that time, Eddie Jacobs was, by far, the place to go for clothing, and even though it's a little snug at this time, it's still a classy-looking jacket.

If you had a chance to have a quiet little dinner with the person you would most like to meet, who would that be and what would you wear?

Candice Bergen, star of television's "Murphy Brown." I have always enjoyed her performances as an actress. Not only is she very attractive, but she appears to have the personality and sense of humor that I enjoy. More than likely I would wear some type of formal attire, if I had an opportunity to have dinner with her.

What is your wardrobe weakness?

I still have not been able to adjust to the new fad of wild, flowered colored ties, but I love shopping for ties. Whenever I'm in another city, I look for a tie to add to my collection.
