30-year-old man found fatally shot in city's Northwest

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 30-year-old man was found slain yesterday in the rear yard of a house in Northwest Baltimore, city police reported.

Police withheld the victim's identity until his relatives were notified. Police said the victim, who has an extensive record of narcotics violations, had been shot numerous times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's body was discovered just after 6 a.m. in 3200 block of Elgin Avenue. Police were called to the scene after neighborhood residents reported gunshots.

Police said they have no motive or suspects in the slaying.

So far, 33 people have been slain in the city this year, two fewer than at the same time last year, police said.
