This is a weekly summary of selected prime contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.
National defense contracts
I. M. I. Inc. in Bethesda won a $789,799 contract from the Navy to upgrade the ventilation systems in buildings 560 through 566.
A-Z Restoration Inc. in Glendale won a $198,000 contract from the Navy to replace a roof in building 256 at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington.
Twigg Corp. in Capitol Heights won a $132,000 contract from the Navy to upgrade the ventilation system for a Navy building.
VWR Scientific in Columbia won a $3,503,675 contract from the VA Marketing Center to provide pharmaceuticals.
Techno-Sciences Inc. in Greenbelt won a $3,474,814 contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to design, manufacture, install and maintain the Sarsat second generation local user terminals and ancillary equipment, services and documentation.
ARINC Research Corp. in Annapolis won a $3,060,579 contract from the Coastal Systems Station to provide MCM Systems technical and engineering support services.
Millar Elevator Service in Hyattsville won a $2,458,875 contract from the GSA to upgrade and maintain elevator systems.
Oles Envelope Corp. in Baltimore won an $860,100 contract from the Social Security Administration to provide heavyweight envelopes.
Exspeedite Services in Silver Spring won a $498,234 contract from the U.S. Government Printing Office to provide book printing services.
Elrich Group General Contractors Inc. in Forestville won a $147,277 contract from the Smithsonian Institution to provide modifications to the Conservation Analytical Laboratory, Museum Support Center, Smithsonian Institution, Suitland.
