* Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Scott W. Kroft and Navy Lt. j.g. MacGregor L. McClellan recently returned to Port Hueneme, Calif., with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Four following a seven-month deployment to Japan and the Philippines.
While in Okinawa, Japan, they assisted in several projects, including the rehabilitation of enlistedliving quarters and a public works building and renovating one of the base's water mains.
After being redeployed to the Philippines, they participated in the recovery operations at Subic Bay Naval Base following the eruptionof Mount Pinatubo. The battalion worked around the clock clearing roadways, restoring utilities and building shelters.
Once their mission in the Philippines was complete, NMCB-4 returned to Okinawa to finish construction projects before returning home.
Kroft is the sonof David L. and Sarah L. Kroft of Westminster. The 1982 Westminster High School graduate joined the Navy in June 1982.
McClellan is the son of Cleo L. and Betty O. McClellan of Finksburg. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and a 1989 graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He joined the Navy in July 1987.
* Navy Petty Officer 1st Class David M.Gibson recently returned aboard the frigate USS McCandless, home-ported in Norfolk, Va., from a six-month deployment to the Mediterraneanand Red Sea in continuing support of Operation Desert Storm.
Gibson participated in operations and training exercises designed to testthe mission readiness of the ship and crew. While operating with theaircraft carrier USS Forrestal, USS McCandless completed joint military training operations with naval forces from Turkey and Greece.
He visited several foreign ports, including Alicente, Spain; Menton, France; Hurghada, Egypt; Athens and Corfu, Greece; and Haifa, Israel.
He is the son of Glen O. and Mary M. Gibson of Hampstead. He joined the Navy in December 1981.
