Linthicum woman dies in Arundel accident

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 43-year-old Linthicum woman was killed yesterday afternoon when her car ran a stop sign at a northern Anne Arundel County intersection and was hit broadside by another vehicle, county police said.

Diane Lynn Ensey of the 400 block of North Hammonds Ferry Road died in the crash shortly after 3 p.m. at Marley Neck Boulevard and Spencer Road. Her 2-year-old niece, next to Ms. Ensey in a safety seat, and the driver of the other car escaped serious injury, police said.

They said Ms. Ensey was westbound on Spencer when her car went past a stop sign and was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Kenneth Schaeffer, 35, of the 7900 block of Solley Road in Glen Burnie.

Both Mr. Schaeffer and Brittany Gloria Alvarez, who had been strapped in a child safety seat on the right front of Ms. Ensey's car, were released after treatment at North Arundel Hospital, police said.
