Twenty-two Western Maryland College students have been selected for inclusion in the 1992 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges," the annual directory of the nation's outstanding students in higher education.

Two students from Carroll County will be included in the directory:

* Leona A. Sevick, Class of '92, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James K. Sevick of Taneytown. Sevick, an English major, contributes to Contrast, the student literary periodical. She also is a member of Lambda Iota Tau, the national honor society for students of literature. Sevick is a member of the college's honors program and currently is studying abroad.

* William S. Tinney, Class of '91, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Tinney III of Westminster. Tinney, a history major, is a member of the College Activities Planning Board and the Phi Delta Theta social group. He also participates in student government.

Meanwhile, Joseph Kershner, a Spanish and English major at Ursinus College of Collegeville, Pa., will be included in the 1992 edition of "Who's Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

He is a Westminster High School graduate and the son of Ronald and Carol Kershner of Finksburg.



WESTMINSTER -- Six Carroll countians have been named "Friends of the College" by the Carroll Community College Advisory Board for their donations to the CCC Founders' Endowment Fund.

Those recognized were: Martin K. P. Hill, Masonry Contractors Inc.; John Yingling, Crawford Corp. Insurance; Edward Jecelin, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Inc.; Ralph Shiflett, Bendix Field Engineering Corp.; Joseph Mason, Probst-Mason Inc.; and David H. Roush, Lehigh Portland Cement.

"Friends of the College" awards are given by the Advisory Board in recognition of the support shown by individuals, organizations and businesses from the community.
