A man who appeared to be in his early 20s was found shot to death today near Baltimore Street and Hilton Parkway in West Baltimore.

Police said officers found the body after callers reported gunshots at 6:11 a.m. in the first block of Benkert St.

The victim had gunshot wounds in his back, head and right hip. He was carrying no identification, police said, but he did have money in his pocket. No weapon was found and police knew of no motive for the killing.

The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy and identification. It was the city's 29th homicide this year. There had been 30 homicides in Baltimore by this time last year.
