Environmental Home Center, a Radonn testing and remediation contractor, relocated to 20 Liberty Road in Eldersburg. The company was located in Syskesville and was then called Environmental Home Services.

The Artist's Flat, a local postal station and retail store in Cape St. Claire, is now owned by Clegg Corp. and is operated by John and Valerie Clegg. Dodie & Co., an Annapolis-based small business counseling firm, represented Clegg Corp. in the purchase.

PC Unlimited, a provider of computer services, relocated its corporate offices to 1700 Reisterstown Road, Suite 210, in Baltimore. Lanie A. Hurwitz is president.

Heath Design Group Inc., a space planning and interior design firm, relocated to 316 N. Charles St., Suite 200, in Baltimore. Emily Heath heads the company.

Carter Control Systems Inc., a producer of controls for equipment and machinery, relocated to 5711 Industry Lane, Suite 31, in Frederick.

Kudos

The Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore won the following awards in the Council of Jewish Federations Public Relations Awards competition: Gold Award for Excellence Public Relations; Gold Award for newsletters; Gold Award for annual reports; Gold Award for newspaper advertising; Silver Award for a worker training kit; and a Bronze Award for

invitations.

Michael J. Agetstein received a VIP Award from the Easter Seal Society of Maryland for his work as chairman of the CPA Committee for the 1991 National Easter Seal Society Telethon. Mr. Agetstein is an officer of Grabush, Newman & Co., a Baltimore-based accounting and management consulting firm.

Towson Town Center, a shopping center in Towson, recently won two awards from the International Council of Shopping Centers. The first MAXI Merit Award was for a consumer advertising campaign for construction renovation that was developed by the Baltimore advertising firm Gray Kirk/VanSant.

The second award was for customer service for the center's Shopper Guide program, a group of customer service representatives that are stationed throughout the mall.

Fast & Associates Inc., a Columbia-based advertising agency, won an Award of Merit for Excellence in Builder Advertising for a brochure the agency designed for Silverbrook Farms Condominiums located in Owings Mills New Town. The award was sponsored by the Professional Builder and Remodeler and Homebuilder Seminars.

Restaurant Association of Maryland named the following winners its waiter/waitress competition: Seamus Fogarty of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore, first place; Drew Sinnott Sr. of Pearce's Plantation in Phoenix,

first runner-up; and Bob Sullivan of Caves Valley Country Club in Owings Mills, second runner-up.

Gary Dahne was named salesman of the year by Acme Paper & Supply Co. Inc. in Savage.

Scotsman Buildings, a White Marsh-based division of The Scotsman Group Inc., won a first-place award for advertising. The award was for a full-page, two-color advertisement designed by Cornerstone, an advertising agency in Baltimore.

The Maryland Association of Psychiatric Support Services Inc., a network of community rehabilitation agencies, presented the following awards for excellence in serving people with mental illnesses: Tom Wantz of Turning Point in Hagerstown, Consumer of the Year; Mike Cleckly of Hechinger's in Baltimore, Employer of the Year; Lois Miller of Omni House in Glen Burnie, Practitioner of the Year; and Southern Maryland Community Network in Prince Frederick, Program of the Year.

Joan Carol Design and Exhibit Group, a Clinton-based producer of portable and modular exhibits, won the Small Business of the Year Award from the Prince George's County Chamber of Commerce.

Robert J. Knode won the Kirkman Award from the Purchasing Management Association for his contributions to the purchasing profession.

Open for business

Jefferson Leasing, a vehicle leasing company, was opened at 8424 Veterans Highway in Millersville by Jerry Duffy. Jefferson Leasing represents Jefferson Bank in Philadelphia.

Automated Financial Solutions Inc., a consulting firm for computers, accounting and technical support services, was opened by Eugene D. Nazelrod, Jay Payne and Sandy Andrejak at 602 East Joppa Road in Towson.

Marketing Innovations, a company specializing in advertisement design, placement and printing, was opened at 13244 Executive Park Terrace in Germantown by Joseph M. Colella Sr.

Connor Environmental Services Inc., providers of residential and commercial real estate assessments, opened offices at 17 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Suite 400, in Towson.

Grand Finale, a division of Charles Levine Caterers in Owings Mills, opened a shop selling deserts, confections and specialty cakes at 11 W. Gwynns Mill Court in Owings Mills.

New Heights Learning Center, providers of educational programs for reading, spelling and comprehension skills, opened 101 E. Chesapeake Ave. in Towson.

CTX Mortgage Co., based in Dallas, Texas, recently opened offices in Owings Mills, Severna Park, Rockville, Fairfax, Va., and Chantilly, Va.

New accounts

Biohabitats Inc., a Towson-based consulting and design firm specializing in ecological assessment, planning and restoration, was hired for several assignments by the the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation.

Meeting Planners Inc., a Columbia-based meeting management firm, is providing meeting management services for the Symposium for Engineering Aspects of Magnetohydrodynamics at the membership meeting, which will be held June 28-July 3, 1992 at the Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore.

Philip Willen Associates Inc., a Pikesville-based public relations, marketing and advertising agency, is representing Eldersburg Optical in Eldersburg Plaza.

The Stern Agency, an Ellicott City-based advertising agency, is representing City Place, a five-level enclosed shopping mall in Silver Spring that is being developed by Petrie, Dierman, Kughn. Scheduled to open in April, the mall will feature off-price stores including Nordstrom Rack, Ross, Marshall's and Lerner New York.

Adams Sandler, a public relations and advertising firm in Baltimore and Rockville, is producing a national public service campaign for the Catholic Communication Campaign of the United States Catholic Conference.

Parks & Ottenhimer, an advertising agency in Baltimore, is representing Davis Buick-GMC Truck in Westminster.

Cornerstone, a Baltimore-based advertising agency, is representing Grayson Homes, home developers in Howard, Anne Arundel, Carroll and Frederick Counties. International Group of Accounting Firms, an association of independent public accounting firms, appointed Harvey M. Newman to the Healthcare Task Force. Mr. Newman is an officer in Grabush, Newman & Co., an accounting and management consulting firm in Baltimore.
