SCHOOL CALENDAR ALTERED

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Faced with budgetary considerations, the Anne Arundel County Board of Education has made changes in the current school calendar that affect spring break for students and in-school days this month and in April.

All students will be off from school Jan. 27-28, when high school conferences are held.

Elementary and middle school teachers also will be off those days.

All schools will be open Jan. 29, which marks the start of the third marking period.

Students and staff will be in school.

Students also will attend school April 6, a day previously scheduled as aprofessional development day.

Spring break is still planned for April 17-20, with April 21-22 added on as days schools will be closed.

Semester testing in the spring now takes place June 17-19.

June 19 is also the last day for students.
