Crack suspect nabbed after leaving train

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

A 25-year-old Philadelphia man was being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center today after police charged him with drug violations as he got off an Amtrak train at the Linthicum station.

The suspect, identified as Floyd Grant, was arrested last night after a search of his luggage.

Police declined to say what prompted investigators to search the luggage.

Narcotics detectives met the train at 6:20 p.m. and approached Mr. Grant, who granted permission for the search, police said.

The detectives reported finding three bags of suspected crack cocaine, weighing 104 grams, with a street value of $10,400, in Mr. Grant's luggage. They said they believe he boarded the train in New York City.

He was charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, possession and transporting the substance into Maryland. He was held without bond at the detention center.
