In Bel Air's 39-25 victory over Havre de Grace Wednesday, all of theranked wrestlers won their bouts.
Scott Birth, ranked No. 5 at 125 pounds in the latest Maryland State Wrestling Association poll, ledBel Air with a technical fall over Sami Zaman at 135 pounds.
Havre de Grace has youngster wrestling at many weight classes butit also has two of the top wrestlers in the state -- Jim Ervine and Tom Burdsall.
Ervine, ranked No. 3 at 125 pounds, remained undefeated. Wrestling at 130 pounds against Bel Air, Ervine won by technicalfall over Anthony Pasco.
Burdsall, ranked No. 6 at 160 pounds hasonly two losses this season. He decisioned Bel Air's Brandon Barrett, 6-0.
The Warriors also got a key victory from Ricky Boggs, who has been hampered with nagging injuries much of the season. Boggs tookan 8-4 decision over Joe Strazzire.
Bel Air got big wins from RobSmallwood, who pinned Alphonso Macon in 1:11 at 152 pounds, and freshman Lucas Vanderwerff, who pinned Mike Finley in 2:58 at 103 pounds.
Havre de Grace's biggest problem has been forfeits. They gave away 12 points by forfeiting to Matt Birth at 119 pounds and Sean McGrawat 189.
Also on Wednesday night, C. Milton Wright beat North Harford, 48-22.
For the Mustangs, Ron Lentz (119), Aric Schwab (125), Gordon Reilly (130), Chris Miller (135), Kevin McGovern (145) and Barry Mitchell (171) all pinned their Hawk opponents.
For North Harford, Jim Ritt (152), Marc Perrine (160), and Bryan Isaacs (hvy) pinnedtheir opponents. Perrine is ranked No. 3 at 160 pounds by the MSWA.
In the closest bout of the match, C. Milton Wright's Ethan Kushnerwon a 5-2 decision over Matt Petz at 140 pounds.
In Wednesday's other match, Edgewood rolled over Joppatowne, 55-12.
Billy Carr (130), Robert Mister (140), Greg Watchinsky (145) and Tim Beach (152) all pinned their opponents for Edgewood.
At 125 pounds Ty Long, ranked No. 6 by MSWA, got a battle from Brian McCarthy, a talented transfer from West Virginia.
In the closest match of the night, Long pulled out a 10-8 victory.
The young Mariners picked up their only 12points on forfeits. Dave Bord (171) and Matt Miller (189) automatically won those matches.
