VOTING DEADLINE NEARS

The deadline for voter registration for Maryland's presidential primary election on March 3 is 9 p.m. Feb. 3.

To register to vote, onemust be a United States citizen, a Maryland resident, 18 years old by Nov. 3 and must not have been disqualified by a criminal record or be under guardianship for mental disability.

Voter applications may be received from the local election officeor the State Administrative Board of Election Laws.

Applications are available throughout Maryland at any office of the State Department of Health, Social Services Administration, Motor Vehicle Administration and most other state agencies, as well as post offices, libraries, public schools and community colleges.

A voter registration application received by mail after the Feb. 3 deadline, but no later than 4 p.m. Feb. 5, is considered timely received if it is postmarked on or before Feb. 3.
