ROBBERY: Western District -- A man reported he was in the 200 block of N. Gilmor St. late Tuesday evening when he was stopped by three men, each armed with a handgun, who forced him to accompany them into an alley. There, one of the men struck the victim over the head with a gun and robbed him of more than $200. Police said the man was not seriously injured.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police yesterday morning arrested a man and were holding him at the station pending charges that he pointed a handgun at a woman after giving her a ride. Police said the man, an unlicensed cabbie known as a "hacker," was driving a female passenger to her undisclosed destination when he stopped in the 600 block of N. Appleton St. The woman later told police that when she objected to the amount of the fare, the man pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her. Police said the woman got out of the car and that the man sped off. He was later arrested and was held overnight at the station pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A teen-ager told police she was walking near the 2400 block of Winchester St. yesterday evening when she was attacked by two teen-age boys she knows who struck her in the eye with a bottle. Police said the youths fled and that the victim was treated for a minor eye injury at a hospital and released.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 700 block of W. Saratoga St. reported that someone broke into her apartment yesterday and stole a suit from a bedroom closet. Police said the clothing was valued at more than $100 and that entry was gained by breaking the front door lock.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A woman reported she was in the 2400 block of Belair Road around 10 a.m. yesterday when she removed her wallet from a jacket pocket. The woman later told police that a man wearing a blue coat walked past her and snatched the wallet from her grasp. Police said the wallet contained cash and property, all valued at more than $100.

RAPE: Northeastern District -- Police said a 15-year-old girl was walking in the 2100 block of Sinclair Lane Tuesday night when she was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who forced her to accompany him into a nearby wooded area. There, the girl later told police, the man forced her to disrobe and raped her. After the attack, the girl went home and reported the incident to her parents, who called police. Later, the girl was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 6200 block of McClean Blvd. reported that someone broke into her home by breaking a pane of glass out of a side window, reaching in and opening the window and entering the house. The intruder stole property valued at more than $1,500. Police said the intruder escaped with cash and a hand-held two-way radio.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 3800 block of Yolando Road yesterday and stole jewelry valued at $50. Police said entry was gained through a rear basement window and that the intruder made off with a 20-inch silver necklace and a pair of earrings.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man reported he was walking in the 3300 block of N. Calvert St. early yesterday when he was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said after the victim gave up his wallet containing about $20, he was forced down onto the pavement by the gunman who then escaped.

ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Northern District -- Police reported a man was shot early yesterday following a robbery in the 5500 block of The Alameda. Police said the victim was walking near The Alameda Shopping Center about 4 a.m. yesterday when a man armed with a handgun got out of a 1991 Nissan and demanded he give up his coat. Police said that after the victim gave the gunman his coat, the man fired a shot that struck the victim. Police said the gunman then drove off with the man's coat, valued at more than $300. Police said the victim was taken to a hospital and treated for a minor gunshot wound.

THEFT: Northern District -- Police said someone broke into a 1991 Mazda while the vehicle was parked in the 2200 block of Rogene Drive between Tuesday night and yesterday morning and stole a coat and a 12-speed bike. The victim told police the property was valued at nearly $400.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police reported that a woman was walking in the 300 block of E. 31st St. yesterday evening when she was stopped by a man who placed a handgun to her side and ordered her to give up her purse. Police said the woman complied and that the gunman escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $270.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Oakley Ave. reported that someone broke into her home by forcing the front door and stole a 20-inch TV and two VCRs. Police said the property was valued at nearly $1,000 and that the break-in occurred yesterday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said property valued at $800 was stolen from a dwelling in the 4900 block of Poe Ave. after someone entered through an unlocked rear door. Police said the burglar escaped with a VCR and stereo equipment.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A woman reported she was walking in the 500 block of Yale Ave. Tuesday night when she was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who demanded she give up her money. Police said the gunman robbed the woman of $20 and escaped.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police reported someone broke into a house in the 400 block of N. Chapelgate Road and stole an undisclosed sum of cash. Police said entry was gained by kicking open a rear door.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police said photographic equipment was stolen from a dwelling in the 400 block of Kensington Road after someone gained entry by removing a pane of glass from a door.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Employees of State Sales Co. in the 3400 block of Benson Ave. told police that someone broke into the building and stole TV and other electronic equipment. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,000.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- An out-of-town resident told police he was in the 600 block of N. Denison St. early yesterday when he was accosted by a man armed with a handgun who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the victim complied, giving the gunman cash and property, all valued at more than $300. Police said after taking the victim's property, the gunman struck the man with the weapon and fled.

ROBBERY TRY: Southwestern District -- Police said a man attempted to rob a woman of her purse as she walked in the 4300 block of Woodridge Road yesterday afternoon. Police said the victim was walking along the street around 12:15 p.m. when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed onto her purse. Police said the woman struggled with the man, causing him to lose his grip and flee. About 30 minutes later, a man answering the description of the person who attempted to rob the woman on Woodridge Road approached a woman as she walked in the 4200 block of Edmondson Ave. and stole the purse she was carrying. The woman told police the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at about $40.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police reported a man robbed a woman yesterday afternoon of her purse while she walked in the 600 block of Mount Holly St. The victim told police the man walked up to her from behind and fled after stealing her purse. The woman told police her purse contained more than $100 in cash in addition to personal property.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- Police reported a man armed with a handgun entered the Dollar General Store in the 1700 block of Chesaco Ave. shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday and forced a clerk to give him the contents of the cash register while pressing the weapon to the woman's side. Police said the gunman escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash, running toward the nearby Chevron service station.

Anne Arundel County

ROBBERY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported a Glen Burnie woman was walking across the Chatham Business Park parking lot Monday night when a car, occupied by several teen-agers pulled up nearby and stopped. Police said one of the youths got out of the car and demanded the woman's jacket. Police said that when the woman refused to give up her jacket, the youth pulled it off of her. Following the robbery, the youth got back into the car, which sped off.

ROBBERY: Glen Burnie -- Police said a man armed with a knife and a handgun robbed Fun-n-Games, a computer-video game arcade at Ritchie Highway and Ordnance Road, of several hundred dollars late Monday night. Police said a man entered the arcade around 9:30 p.m. and walked up to the counter, where he asked an employee to give him change for a dollar. Police said the man then pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cash register. When the employee refused, police said the man pulled out a handgun and forced the employee into a back room. There, the armed man bound the employee with a telephone extension cord before removing more than $400 from the store.

BURGLARY: Annapolis -- A resident of the 5800 block of Bellerive Road reported that someone broke into his home and stole appliances and household items, all valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY: Brooklyn Park -- Police said property valued at more than $1,100 was stolen from a dwelling in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway after someone gained entry by forcing a door.

BURGLARY: Brooklyn Park -- Property valued at nearly $500 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 4900 block of Brookwood Road after someone gained entry through a door. Police said several appliances were taken in the break-in.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police said several pieces of jewelry, video games and appliances were stolen from a dwelling in the 200 block of Woodhill Drive by someone who entered by forcing a door. Police said the property was valued at $700.

BURGLARY: Odenton -- A resident of the 500 block of Williamsburg Lane reported that someone broke into his home and stole appliances valued at more than $700. Police said entry was gained by forcing a door.

Carroll County

THEFT: Gamber -- Police reported that someone removed the doors from a 1980 Chevrolet pickup truck while the vehicle was parked at a service station on Gamber Road. Police said the doors were valued at $800.

BURGLARY: New Windsor -- A resident of Dennings Road told police that someone broke into his home and stole several compact discs and an AM-FM cassette player. The victim told police the property was valued at early $500.

Howard County

BURGLARY: Ellicott City -- Police reported that someone broke into a house in the 1100 block of Farside Road and stole several pieces of jewelry and a VCR. Police said the value of the property was not immediately known.
