GEESE HUNTING SKETCHBOOK

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Keven Lohr, a Harford County guide, has been hunting waterfowl sincehe was a young man. I recently got his permission to tag along and produce these drawings.

I learned that geese hunting using guides became popular during the 1920s, but was considered a sport for the rich. The sport's popularity took off during the 1950s, when farmers inthe area started using mechanical corn pickers; this allowed geese to stay and feed throughout the year.

Thanks to the K.K.O Hunt Club and our guide, Keven Lohr.
