TOXIC MATERIALS 3 LAUDED

Three members of the U.S. Army Toxic and Hazardous Materials Agency were recognized recently at ceremonies in Washington.

Salvatore P.Torrisi, Kenneth E. Wiggans, and Joseph M. Murphy Jr., all of the agency's base closure division, were presented commanders' awards for public service as well as plaques for exceptional contributions in managing and coordinating the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act and Environmental Restoration documents for Base Realignment and Closure actions.

The U.S. Army Toxic and Hazardous Materials Agency, headquarteredin the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, is responsible for conducting environmental investigations and proposing methods of environmental cleanup at Army installations nationwide, including bases slated for closure.

Torrisi is chief of the Base Closure Division, Murphy and Wiggans are branch chiefs. All three reside in Bel Air.
