RILEY ON FORRESTAL

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph P. Riley, son of Virginia C. Riley of Bel Air, and Joseph P. Riley Jr. of Darlington, recently participated in two multinational naval exercises aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal, homeported in Mayport, Fla.

Riley joined with sailors from Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Greece, and France for Operations Hammerlock and Display Determination.

After completing the exercises, Riley participated in a scheduledport visit to Souda Bay on the Greek island of Crete.

The 1976 graduate of Bel Air High School, joined the Navy in November 1987.

PAISGETS AIR MEDAL

Marine Maj. Anthony B. Pais, a 1975 graduate of Bel Air High School, received the Air Medal.

Pais received the awardfor meritorious achievement as a pilot for Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron-253, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.

While deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm, Pais successfully complete missions which contributed materially to the success of the U.S. efforts in Asia.

Also a graduateof Virginia Military Institute, he joined the Marine Corps in May 1979.

MARINE REPORTS TO SUB

Navy Seaman Korron L. Marine, daughter of William L. and Deborah C. Griffin of Aberdeen, reported for duty onthe submarine tender USS Frank Cable, homeported in Charleston, S.C.

The 1986 graduate of Aberdeen High School joined the Navy in April 1989.
