Seven people, including a mother and her two sons, were arrested in Harford County Friday as a result of a six-month investigation into the distribution of cocaine, state police said yesterday.

The Harford County Joint Narcotics Task Force executed a warrant Friday morning. Rafael Angel Velez, 18, his brother Luis Angel Velez, 21, and their mother, Isabel Velez, 50, were arrested at their home in the 1800 block of Shirley Avenue in Joppa.

Arrested at the same address was James Davis Taylor, 45.

They were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and were being held yesterday in the Harford County detention center near Bel Air in lieu of $250,000 bond each.

Also arrested at the address were Rose Marie Cooper, 23, and Ricardo Adam Ortiz, 29, who were both charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and with its distribution.

Both Ms. Cooper and Mr. Ortiz were being held in lieu of $250,000 bond each.

Richard Pena, 20, of the first block of Krouse Court in Aberdeen, was arrested as a result of the task force operation and charged with intent to distribute cocaine. He also was being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
