Woman is fatally stabbed

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

A domestic argument before dawn today in East Baltimore ended with the city's 13th homicide of the year.

Police said April Wiggins, 34, of the 3300 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway, was stabbed in the chest during an argument.

The dispute began in her boyfriend's home in the 1300 block of N. Potomac St. in East Baltimore, and ended with the stabbing in the rear yard, police said.

Wiggins was then driven by a female friend to a convenience store several blocks away in the 1900 block of Edison Highway, where paramedics were called.

From there, police said, Wiggins was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 5:41 a.m.

Police found Wiggins' boyfriend, Anthony Myrich, 35, at his North Potomac Street address. He was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder and a weapons violation.

Myrich was being questioned by homicide detectives at police headquarters pending an appearance later today before a court commissioner.

Police said they had not found the murder weapon. The nature of the argument was not disclosed.

Baltimore's 13 homicides so far this year have included three double murders. The total compares with 12 by this time last year.
