Motive sought in slaying Woman found shot in car in Frederick Co.

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

The Frederick County sheriff's office said today there are no arrests and no apparent motive in the shooting death yesterday of a 30-year-old mother whose body was found inside her recently purchased car off a road in Monrovia.

A sheriff's office spokesman identified the victim as Deborah Patricia Fagan, who lived with her 4-year-old son, 2-year-old daughter, her mother and a sister in the 2700 block of Hillside Court in Monrovia.

He said Fagan's body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy. The results were expected today.

Fagan, who worked for an electronic data systems firm in Montgomery County, left for work shortly after 6 a.m. yesterday in her late-model Pontiac Grand Am, authorities said.

About 8:30 a.m., a surveyor working near Gladhill Brothers Road spotted the car in a wooded area about 100 yards off the road and investigated.

The man saw Fagan's body inside the car and called police.

A preliminary investigation of the case indicated Fagan was fatally shot, but the number of times she was shot was not revealed.

The spokesman declined to say if the woman's purse was in the car when her body was found.

The spokesman said the car was being processed for clues that might lead to the identity of her killer.
