A Mass of Christian burial was offered yesterday for Livingston G. Levasseur, a Columbia physical therapist technician, at St. John the Evangelist Church in the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center. He was buried at St. John's Cemetery on St. John's Lane.

Mr. Levasseur died Monday at Howard County General Hospital after a seven-month battle with stomach cancer. He was 39.

A native of Port-de-Paix, Haiti, Mr. Levasseur graduated from theLycee Louverture in Haiti and emigrated to the United States 10 years ago.

He had worked for the Community Medical Rehabilitation Center in Baltimore since his arrival.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Gustane, of Columbia; two sons, Livingston Jr. and Lovinsky; his mother, Therese Gracia, of Columbia; sister, Fanny Levasseur,of New York, N.Y.; brothers, Claudel Levasseur of Miami, Fla., and Joules Andre Gracia of Port-Au-France.

The family suggests memorialcontributions to his wife at the home.
