A Baltimore woman was killed New Year's Day when she lost control ofher car and hit a tree in Linthicum, county police said.

Investigators said JoAnn Katherine Allen, 28, of the 600 block Harvey Street was driving westbound on River Road near West Nursery Road in her 1989 Chevrolet Corsica when she crossed the center line and hit a tree on the other side of the road.

Police said Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:40 a.m. accident.
