THEFT: Eastern District -- Broderick Jackson, 19, of the 2400 block of E. Biddle St., reported that someone entered his house and stole his leather jacket. Jackson told police the jacket was valued at more than $300 and that the theft occurred more than a week ago.
CUTTING: Eastern District -- Darlene Small, 30, of the 400 block of E. Biddle St., told police that during an incident at her home early Wednesday, she was assault by a man who cut her on the arm with a knife. Police said Small was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was released. The man was being sought by police.
CUTTING: Eastern District -- Police today were seeking a 17-year-old girl in connection with the stabbing early Wednesday of Thomas S. Jones, of the 400 block of E. Biddle St., during an incident at his home. Police said Jones was attacked by the girl, who stabbed him in the upper right leg with a knife and then fled the dwelling.
ASSAULT: Eastern District -- William Diggs, 32, of the 1400 block of N. Luzerne Ave., reported that during an argument Wednesday night with a woman inside his home, he was struck in the head with a large drinking glass. Police said Diggs sustained minor injuries and that the woman was arrested.
THEFT/ARREST: Eastern District -- Janet Campbell, 32, of the 2600 block of E. Oliver St., told police that a man she knows entered her home Wednesday night and stole a radio, jewelry and cooking utensils, all valued at more than $700. Later, police arrested a suspect in the case and were holding him at the station pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
ROBBERY: Eastern District -- Police reported that Charles Cook,, of the first block of N. Broadway, was listed today in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being struck with an auto jack handle during a robbery early yesterday in the 1300 block of N. Wolfe St. Police said Cook was attacked and beaten by two men who robbed him of an unknown sum of money. Cook was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was treated in the emergency room for a fractured skull, possible broken nose, other facial injuries and lacerations to his back.
THEFT: Eastern District -- Julia Scott, 39, of the 1200 block of Ashland Ave., reported someone entered her home yesterday morning and stole several pieces of clothing and a VCR. Police said the property was valued at more than $400 and that a 20-year-old man known to Scott is being sought as a suspect in the case.
THEFT/ARREST: Eastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the 7-Eleven store in the 1900 block of Edison Highway early yesterday arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at less than $5. After being charged with theft, police said, Jonathan A. Johnson, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was released on his own recognizance.
THEFT: Eastern District -- John J. Cowan, of the 3500 block of Stoneybrook Road in the Randallstown section of Baltimore County, reported that while his company-owned truck was parked in the 3500 block of E. Biddle St. between Dec. 20 and yesterday, someone broke into the vehicle and stole tools and a CB radio. Police said the property was valued at more than $600 and that entry was gained by breaking one of the truck's windows.
CUTTING: Eastern District -- Police said Thomas Bogier, of the 1900 block of E. Lanvale St., was in the 1800 block of Federal St. yesterday evening when he was accosted by a man armed with a sharp object who cut him on the face. Police said the assailant fled the scene and that Bogier was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
THEFT/ARREST: Eastern District -- Police arrested a 37-year-old woman yesterday afternoon who attempted to leave the Farm Fresh store in the 1600 block of E. North Ave. without paying for merchandise valued at nearly $40. Police said the woman was detained by a store security officer who held her for uniformed city police. Police said the woman was being held at the women's detention center at the Central District pending charges and a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner.
BURGLARY: Eastern District -- A resident of the 1900 block of Hope St. reported that someone broke into her home yesterday through the front door and stole a 13-inch TV, a case of baby formula and a coin bank containing an unknown sum.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North told police that someone broke into her home Wednesday through a bedroom window and stole a computer, a computer-type game and nine computer game cartridges. Police said the property was valued at more than $700.
THEFT: Northern District -- Robert Talbott, of the 3900 block of Greenmount Ave., reported that while his Jeep was parked near his home between Wednesday and yesterday someone broke into the vehicle and stole a pair of prescription sun glasses and $10 in cash. Police said the glasses were valued at $100.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- An elderly resident of the 6100 block of Parkway Drive told police she was walking in the 5600 block of The Alameda around 10 a.m. yesterday when she was approached from behind by a man who shoved her and stole the purse she was carrying. Police said the purse contained cash and property, all valued at more than $100. Later, police recovered the purse, minus $55 in cash.
ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a 12-year-old boy and later released him in the custody of his parents after charging him as a juvenile with shooting a 13-year-old female resident of the 1400 block of Medfield Ave. in the head with a BB gun during an incident in the 4300 block of Buchanan Ave. Police said the girl was not seriously injured.
THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of the Northwest Nursing Center in the 4600 block of Pall Mall Road reported that someone entered a storage room with a key and stole property valued at nearly $170.
ASSAULT: Northern District -- Monte Lee, of the 6200 block of Northwood Drive, reported to police that during an argument with a man known to him near his home yesterday afternoon, he was cut on the right hand with a knife. Police said the other man escaped and that Lee was taken to an area hospital for treatment and released.
THEFT: Northern District -- John Sweeney, of the 5400 block of Purlington Way told police that someone entered his property between Dec. 19 and yesterday and stole more than 16 feet of copper downspouting from the side of his garage. Sweeney told police the downspouting was valued at more than $300.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Carole Hyman, of the 2300 block of Penny Royal Terrace, reported she was walking near her home around 7 p.m. yesterday when a man approached her from behind, shoved her and stole the purse she was carrying. Police said the purse contained $80 in cash, a hand-size calculator and other pieces of property, all valued at more than $300.
THEFT: Northern District -- Thomas Bannister, of the 2200 block of Clove Terrace, reported his BMW was parked near his home yesterday when someone broke into the vehicle and stole a leather jacket. Sweeney told police the jacket was valued at $400.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Audrey McNeal, of the 2800 block of Grantley Road, reported she was walking in the 1700 block of Warwick Ave. Tuesday afternoon when she was stopped by a man she knows who assaulted her and robbed her of more than $170 in cash.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Auchentoroly Terrace reported that someone broke into his apartment by forcing the front door and stole a TV, VCR, $80 in cash and a tape recorder. Police said the property was valued at more than $400.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Josephine Allen, of the 500 block of Bloom St., told police she was walking in the 500 block of Gold St. Tuesday when she was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who forced her to give up her money. Police said the robbers escaped with more than $100 in cash.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the 909 Club in the 900 block of N. Calhoun St. shortly before 8 p.m. yesterday and ordered an employee to give up money from the cash register. Police said the pair fled with an undisclosed sum of cash.
THEFT: Western District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the Quick Shop in the 2000 block of Edmondson Ave. arrested a man who attempted to leave the store without paying for several cans of food. Police said the man was held overnight pending theft charges.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Dante Small, of the 2600 block of Oswego Ave., told police he was riding his bike in the 300 block of N. Fremont Ave. yesterday afternoon when he was pushed off his bike by a man who stole it. Police said the value of the bike was not known.
Baltimore County
SHOOTING: Towson District -- Police today reported that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting yesterday afternoon of a 14-year-old east Baltimore boy who was shot twice during an incident in the first block of Solar Court. Police said George DeShields, of the 2600 block of E. Preston St., was shot in the thigh and hand about 1 p.m. following an argument that began at the McDonald's outlet in the 7300 block of McClean Blvd. Police said the argument continued across Perring Parkway in the Northbrook Apartments, where DeShields was shot by one of several youths with whom he was arguing. When police responded, they found no evidence that anyone had been shot. However, about 30 minutes later, city police notified county police that a youth was being treated at the hospital for two gunshot wounds and that the shooting occurred near the Northbrook Apartments. Police said DeShields was not able to give a good description of the person who shot him. He was listed today in good condition at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Anne Arundel County
THEFT: Harundale -- Police reported that a woman's $15,000 fur coat was stolen last week while she was shopping at a store in the Marley Station Mall. Sylvia Janice Jones, 64, of St. Michaels, Talbot County, told police she was shopping in Lerner's clothing store when she stopped for a few minutes and sat down on a couch in the store. Jones told police she took off her fur coat and was resting for a few minutes before she got up and walked out of the store. A few minutes later, Jones realized she wasn't wearing her coat and returned to the store. After a search for the coat by Jones and store employees, it was determined that someone spotted the coat on the couch unattended and stole it.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that someone broke into a model home in the 7700 block of Mountain Road by forcing a basement door and stole a stove and a dishwasher. Police said the appliances were valued at $700.
BURGLARY: Pasadena -- A resident of the 8200 block of Riverside Drive told police that someone broke into his home through a side door and stole camera equipment, silverware, and jewelry. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,100.
