Roy M Methvin, 29, a glazier who started his own automobile glass business in northeast Baltimore a year ago, died Tuesday at Johns Hopkins Hospital from complications of a 1983 bone marrow transplant.

A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Harford Road and Echodale Avenue. Burial will be in Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Ave.

A native of Mount Holly, N.J., Mr. Methvin was diagnosed with leukemia in 1982 and came to Hopkins for treatment. There he met Maria Mikulski, a registered nurse in the bone marrow unit. The two married in 1986, lived briefly in Delaware, then returned to Baltimore.

"It was difficult, but it was good," Ms. Mikulski said of their courtship and marriage, during which Mr. Methvin's health often was poor.

Still, he managed to continue working much of the time, installing auto glass. He opened his shop, Roy's Auto Glass, last year in the Gardenville area.

Besides his wife, survivors include his parents, Roy Methvin of Mount Holly and Phyllis Giles of Port Penn, Del.; and a sister, Lynn Estepp of Townsend, Del.
