BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2100 block of N. Fulton Ave. reported that someone broke into her home Tuesday evening and stole a VCR, TV and a microwave oven. Police said the value of the property was not immediately known.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $1,000 was stolen from a dwelling in the 2300 block of Edmondson Ave. after someone gained entry through a rear door. Police said the intruder escaped with a VCR, a computer game, more than $100 in cash and a watch.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Copper tubing valued at $300 was reported stolen from a dwelling in the 500 block of N. Carey St. Police said someone broke into the house between Sunday night and Monday morning and stole the property out of the basement.
ROBBERIES: Western District -- Two women reported they were robbed of their money Tuesday afternoon by the driver of an unlicensed cab. The victims, Lekisha Benson, of the 600 block of Pitcher St., and Katina Bermer, of the 1500 block of N. Fulton Ave., told police that after hailing a hack near Bermer's house around 4 p.m. Tuesday, they told the driver to take them to an undisclosed destination. In the 2300 block of Edmondson Ave., the hack stopped his 1982 red Oldsmobile Cutlass and pulled out a handgun. In the car, the man robbed Benson of $20 in cash and took another $15 from Bermer. After ordering the women out of his car, the gunman drove off.
STABBING: Western District -- George Murry, of the 1600 block of Warwick Ave., reported he was walking in the 900 block of W. Franklin St. early Christmas morning when he was attacked by two men who stabbed him in the back for no apparent reason. Police said the men fled and that Murry was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1900 block of W. Baltimore St. reported that someone entered her second-floor room early yesterday and stole a Christmas stocking containing about $10 worth of holiday gifts. Police said the burglar entered the room by climbing a drain pipe.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Roy Harkinston, of the 300 block of N. Mount St., reported he was walking near his home early yesterday when he was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who demanded his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice robbed Harkinston of $100 and escaped.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said property valued at nearly $400 was stolen from a house in the 500 block of Clifton Ave. after someone entered through a rear window.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of Ramblewood Road reported that someone broke into the storage locker of his apartment and stole a cedar chest containing property valued at more than $300. Police said entry into the basement was through a window.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that property valued at $300 was stolen from an apartment in the 2800 block of Remington Ave. after someone gained entry with a key. Police said the intruder escaped with a camera.
THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of Fulton Service, Inc., in the 3100 block of St. Paul St., reported that someone entered the office between Sunday and Monday and stole $100 from a petty cash box.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 1100 block of Gittings Ave. Monday afternoon and stole a microwave oven, camera, VCR and $30 in silver dollars. Police said the property had a total value of more than $1,000 and that entry was gained through an unlocked rear window.
THEFT: Northern District -- Darien Waldron, of the 300 block of E. University Parkway, reported that someone entered his apartment Monday and stole a portable radio and a telephone answering machine. Police said the property was valued at nearly $160.
THEFT: Northern District -- Michael Schmidt, of the 4800 block of Roland Ave., reported that someone entered the front porch of his home and stole a 12-speed bike. Schmidt told police the bike was valued at more than $300.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of Billy's, a bar in the 3100 block of Greenmount Ave., reported that someone broke in Tuesday night and stole more than $200 in quarters. Entry was gained through a back door.
THEFT: Northern District -- Michelle Echo, an out-of-town resident, told police that while her 1987 Toyota was parked in the first block of Hamill Road on Tuesday, someone broke into the vehicle and stole Christmas gifts and clothing. Police said the property was valued at nearly $155.
THEFT: Northern District -- Pearl Scholz, of the first block of Blythewood Road, told police that someone removed more than $1,500 worth of copper downspouting from the side of her home between Dec. 15 and Saturday.
THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Mathews St. told police that someone removed a decorated Christmas reindeer from his porch on Christmas Eve. The victim, Robert Mayo, told police the decoration was valued at more than $100.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Ruth Charlow, of the 600 block of Kahn Drive in western Baltimore County, reported that she was walking in the 2900 block of St. Paul St. around 7 p.m. Tuesday when she was approached from behind by a man who stole the purse she was carrying. Charow told police the purse contained cash and property, all valued at more than $400.
THEFT: Northern District -- Albert Perry, of the 200 block of Lambeth Road, reported that while his 1991 Ford sedan was parked near his home between Monday and Tuesday, someone broke into the vehicle and stole more than $1,400 worth of Christmas gifts. Police said entry was gained by breaking a window.
THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of Expressway Courier in the 300 block of W. 27th St. reported that someone entered the garage Tuesday and stole an AM-FM radio off a shelf. Police said the radio was valued at $300.
THEFT: Northern District -- Barbara Norris, of the 2300 block of Robb St., reported she was standing in the checkout line of a food store in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday afternoon when a man grabbed four $20 bills from her hand. Police said the man ran out the front door and escaped.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police said that someone entered a dwelling in the 300 block of Ilchester Ave. yesterday afternoon and stole property valued at nearly $140. The victim, July Deaver, told police the person took a camera, $25 in cash, baby formula and a box of disposable diapers.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of E. Northern Parkway reported that someone broke into his home last night while he was out and stole clothing, a VCR and a camera. Police said entry was gained through a door and that the value of the property was not immediately known.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police reported that Donnell Smith, of the 100 block of Atholgate Road, was near his home Tuesday evening when he was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who forced him to give up his money. Police said the men robbed Smith of more than $100 and escaped.
Baltimore County
ARREST: Parkville District -- Police early today arrested a teen-age male and were holding him at the station pending arson charges. Police said the youth was arrested after someone set fire to a dwelling in the 8400 block of Hallmark Circle shortly after 4 a.m. Police said the fire spread to an adjoining dwelling, but that no injuries were reported. The fire was extinguished by firefighters in less than 30 minutes.
ROBBERY/ARREST: Cockeysville District -- Following a pursuit that ended in the city, police last night arrested a 41-year-old man and charged him with the armed robbery of the Hampton Inn, a restaurant in the 11200 block of York Road. Police said Officer Dennis Quirk was on patrol around 9:45 p.m. when he heard a report broadcast of a white Volvo whose driver was wanted in the robbery. After spotting the car going south on Interstate 83, Quirk followed the car while calling on radio his position. Minutes later, a Towson District officer joined the pursuit. When the car entered the city, Baltimore police were notified. At the intersection of Charles Street and Northern Parkway, the Volvo was stopped and the driver arrested. A short time later, an employee of the Hampton Inn arrived on the scene and identified the driver as the holdup man. In the car, police recovered money believed taken in the robbery. Charged with one count of armed robbery and being held at the station pending a bail hearing is Michael Raymond Garner, of the 1300 block of Winston Ave.
Anne Arundel County
ROBBERY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that an employee of Brown's Toyota, a car dealership in the 7100 block of Ritchie Highway, was abducted Monday while he was about to deposit money at a bank. The victim, Rodney Thompson, 25, of the Cherry Hill section of Baltimore, told police he was getting out of his car on the parking lot of the Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Co. in the 7300 block of Ritchie Highway shortly after noon Monday to place two bags of company money in the night depository when he was accosted by a man armed with a blue-steel revolver who forced him back into the car and ordered him to drive around the parking lot. A few minutes later, the gunman ordered Thompson to stop behind the Pep Boys auto supply store, where the gunman told Thompson he was going to lock him inside the trunk. At that time, Thompson bolted from the car and ran to a nearby outside telephone. Police said when Thompson fled the car, the gunman drove off. In the car, police said, were two bags containing an undisclosed sum of money.
ROBBERY: Millersville -- Police today were continuing to search for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store in the 8100 block of Veterans Highway over the weekend. Police said a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun and wearing a light green jacket with a picture of a bulldog on the back entered the store and ordered an employee standing behind the counter to give him the contents of the cash register. Police said the employee complied, giving the gunman about $20 in cash.
THEFTS: Millersville -- Police reported that someone stole a 4-foot high illuminated Santa Claus from in front of a home in the 2400 block of 228th St. in Pasadena over the weekend. The Santa, police said, was valued at $60. In Annapolis, someone entered the front yard of a house in the 1700 block of St. Margaret Road and cut down a 6-foot evergreen. Police said the value of the tree was not known.
BURGLARY: Brooklyn -- Police said that someone broke into a church in the 100 block of Audrey Ave. by forcing a window and stole a scanner and a cordless telephone. Police said the property was valued at more than $300.
BURGLARY: Crownsville -- A resident of the 1300 block of Waterbury Road reported that someone broke into his garage and stole at least $4,000 worth of carpentry tools and other pieces of property. Police said entry was gained through a door.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that a mink coat, fox stole and a scarf were stolen from a dwelling in the 200 block of New Jersey Ave. after someone broke in.
