Founded the Sutcliffe Foundation, which contributes to numerous charities and social agencies throughout Chicago. 1974: Went 10-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 17 games with Bellingham of the Northwest League (Rookie). 1978: Went 13-6 with 6 complete games in 27 starts for Albuquerque of the Pacific Coast League (AAA). . . . 1979: Named NL Rookie of the Year by the BBWAA, The Sporting News and the Baseball Bulletin. . . . Led Dodgers' staff with 17 wins and 242 innings pitched. . . . Hit first major-league home run, off Tom Seaver. 1981: Traded to Cleveland on Dec. 9 with 2B Jack Perconte for OF Jorge Orta, C Jack Fimple and P Larry White. 1982: Led AL with a 2.96 ERA. . . . Was only AL starter with an ERA under 3.00. 1983: Earned first All-Star selection, going 10-2 with a 3.92 ERA in first half of season. 1984: Traded to Cubs on June 13 with C Ron Hassey and P George Frazier for OF Mel Hall, OF Joe Carter, P Don Schulze and P Darryl Banks. . . . Was unanimous choice for NL Cy Young Award. . . . Won 14 straight games to end regular season. . . . Defeated San Diego, 13-2, in first game of NL playoffs, homering off Eric Show. 1985: Limited to 20 starts, spending 93 days on DL with arm and hamstring injuries. 1987: Named The Sporting News NL Pitcher of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year, leading the league with 18 wins. . . . Selected to NL All-Star team, becoming 13th pitcher to appear for both leagues. . . . Received Roberto Clemente Award for humanitarian service. 1988: Pitched a career-high 12 complete games. . . . Hit a game-winning 2-run homer against Houston. 1989: Selected to All-Star team for third time. . . . Started Game 3 of NL playoffs against San Francisco, but was not involved in the decision. 1990: Underwent arthroscopic surgery on shoulder on May 7. . . .Started 5 games, going 0-2 with a 5.91 ERA. 1991: Earned 100th NL victory on May 10. . . . After returning from DL on Aug. 6, went 4-1 with a 2.33 ERA in 10 starts.
