Baltimore Orioles -- Agreed to terms with P Rick Sutcliffe on a 1-year contract.

California Angels -- Announced that SS Dick Schofield accepted salary arbitration.

Colorado Rockies -- Reached a 1-year player development agreement in conjunction with the Minnesota Twins with Class A Visalia.

Detroit Tigers -- Signed P Mike Walker to a minor-league contract with Class AAA Toledo.

Kansas City Royals -- Announced that OF Jim Eisenreich accepted salary arbitration.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Announced that 2B Juan Samuel and P Jay Howell accepted salary arbitration.

Minnesota Twins -- Announced that C Brian Harper accepted salary arbitration.

New York Mets -- C Mackey Sasser will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow today to repair bone chips and torn cartilage. Announced that OF Daryl Boston accepted salary arbitration.

Oakland Athletics -- Announced that P Ron Darling accepted salary arbitration.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Agreed to terms with OF Jim Lindeman (.337 in 65 games) on a 1-year contract. Decided not to offer a contract to P Joe Boever (3-1, 3.84), allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Named Doc Edwards hitting coach for Class AAA Buffalo.

St. Louis Cardinals -- Announced that 1B Pedro Guerrero accepted salary arbitration.

Texas Rangers -- Signed Marty Scott, director of player personnel, to a 2-year contract extension through 1993. Announced they won't offer SS Jeff Kunkel (missed 1991 with a torn knee ligament) a contract.

Toronto Blue Jays -- Agreed to terms with OF Dave Winfield on a 1-year contract.

Basketball

Los Angeles Clippers -- Activated G Bo Kimble from the injured list. Placed G-F Tony Brown on the injured list.

Grand Rapids Hoops (CBA) -- Traded F-C Cedric Lewis (Maryland) to the Albany Patroons for the rights to C Dave Popson.

Colleges

Florida State -- Declared FL Eric Turral and LB Willie Pauldo academically ineligible for the Mobil Cotton Bowl.

Hampton -- Named Joseph Taylor football coach.

Peter's -- Announced it would begin play in Division I women's soccer in fall 1992.

Texas Christian -- Announced that basketball reserves Ken Fielder, David Preston and Bobby Frain have left the team, citing a lack of playing time.

Widener -- Announced that Bill Manlove has resigned as football

coach but will continue in his position as AD.

Cleveland Browns -- Placed WR Reggie Langhorne (chest injury) on IR.

Green Bay Packers -- Signed QB Jeff Bridewell and G Gene Cullinane to the practice squad.

Hockey

Minnesota North Stars -- C Dave Gagner will miss the next 1 to 2 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- D Ulf Samuelsson, who had considered returning to his native Sweden, said he has agreed to a 4-year contract.
