WHERE WOULD YOU CUT AND WHERE WOULDN'T YOU CUT FROM THE BUDGET?

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Caryl Winter, 35, of Columbia, mother:

* Definitely not education. The kids need it. Police and fire are necessities, too. Furloughs aren't fair, either. I disagree with layoffs (for county employees). It's not fair -- they're paying taxes. So you have to take (the cuts) across the board -- to non-county employees. And cut back on luxuries: They could drop garbage pickup to one (a week) instead of two. Maybe they should charge admission to county and state parks. There's a lot of programs that need the funds, like education, police and fire. But they should not pinpoint the county employees.
