Is that Santa Claus we see riding up the street? Are you ready for Santa to visit your children?
The Arundel Improvement Association is all set to kick off its Santa Claus Program tonight. Since 1948 theassociation has carried on this tradition. Santa will travel throughthe neighborhoods three evenings, Dec. 16-18, beginning at 7.
Leave your porch light on if you would like Santa to visit. Santa's schedule for all three evenings is as follows:
MONDAY: Sixth Street, Disney and Wasena avenues, Fourth Street, Patrick Henry Drive and Wood Street.
TUESDAY: Taney Avenue, Prince Street, the 400 block of Seward Avenue, Ballman Avenue, Moore, Magie and Church streets, up to Ballman Street and Liberty Terrace.
WEDNESDAY: Roland Terrace, Matthews Avenue, Waverly, Rugby, Fairfax, Redmond, Walton, Franklin, Phillip, Moore, Magie, Johnson. Short Street, Church from Ballman to Ritchie Highway and on to 300 block of Seward.
* Remember that dues are $8 and that there will be no monthly meeting this month.
* All residents are urged to attend this appeals hearing on the Ballman Avenue property. Buses will leave the AIA Building at 12:15 p.m Wednesday for the 2 p.m. hearing in Annapolis.

C.A.S.O.S., AIA's seniors club will meet, beginning at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the hall. All seniors are asked to bring a present to exchange.
There will also be a shopping trip Friday. The mall will be selected at the meeting.
Officers will be installed at the AIA Christmas party from 1 to6 p.m. Sunday. State Sen. Phillip Jimeno will install officers. Everyone is asked to bring a dish or dessert.

Belle Grove Elementary School news: Looking for Santa Claus in the neighborhood? Santa Claus will be at the school from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday in the media room. All area children are invited to come and enjoy cookies and juice, Christmas videos and pictures with Santa Claus.
The photographs will cost $2.

* The chorus will be performing Christmas songs for the Meridian Nursing Home on Hammonds Lane at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

* All classes will begin their Christmas parties at 1 p.m. Friday. Morning kindergartners will celebrate at 10 a.m.

Brooklyn Park Elementary School news:Tuesday will be the night for the Christmas program, which begins at7 p.m. Music will be provided by the strings, band, chorus, bells and second-graders. Everyone is invited to attend.
Christmas partieswill begin at regular lunch times for students Friday.

Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle Junior High School news: A PTSA meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium. Following the meeting everyone will be entertained with Christmas music by the chorus, band andstrings.
Come and enjoy the great music produced by these fine young musicians.
* The school was one of the lucky winners in the Giant "Gobble This Up" contest in conjunction with the Apples for Students program.
Two $10 Giant Food gift certificates were awarded to the school for being one of the first schools to deposit tapes. The certificates will be given to a needy family in the school community.

* The English Department has been providing after-school tutoring sessions for ninth-graders to receive additional help in preparing for the January Maryland Writing Test.

Park Elementary School news: From 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, author Richard Stack will share his books "The Doggonest Christmas" and "The Doggonest Vacation" with the pupils. Stack will be bringing Josh, the main character in the books and a very well behaved mutt.
Copies of his books will be available for purchase, and Stack will be signing autographs.
Copies of the hardback books will cost $12.95 plus tax.
* The F.I.R.E.D. (Falling Into Reading Every Day) program will conclude Friday with the grand prize drawing for a watch.
To date, the students have read a total of 1,185 books and are still reading.
* The PTA will sponsor a Santa's Workshop from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the school. Children are invited to attend and do their holiday shopping.

North County High School news: The Christmas Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium. Take time to relax and get in the Christmas spirit by listening to the music of these young students.

Don't forget that Anne Arundel County public schools will be closed beginning Monday, Dec. 23, and will reopen Monday, Jan. 6.

Harbor Hospital Center news: Learn how to save alife by attending CPR training at Harbor Hospital Center on Friday. The program, which teaches American Heart Association standards for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care, will begin at 8 a.m.
An instructional segment on adult CPR will be followed byskills and written examinations.
Participants will be issued a course completion card for their wallets.
The cost of the program is$20.

The K.C. Task Force is planning on "Oldies But Goodies" dance from 9 to 2 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the Lloyd Keaser Center, 5757 Belle Grove Road, in Pumphrey.
