James A. Sturmfelz, a retired automobile salesman, died Monday of complications after surgery at the Loch Raven Veterans Hospital.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Leonard J. Ruck funeral establishment, 5305 Harford Road.

Mr. Sturmfelz, who was 72, lived on Cedarcroft Road. He retired about five years ago after selling cars for various dealers.

He is survived by his wife, the former Geraldine H. Blizzard; two daughters, Linda McCord of Baltimore and Marlene Switzer of Baldwin; a son, James C. Sturmfelz of Upperco; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
