Only 116 of 240 callers to SUNDIAL, or 48 percent, think the United States should grant immediate recognition to the former Soviet Union republics that have declared themselves a commonwealth. Against immediate recognition are 124 callers, or 51 percent.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
