A Severna Park man suffered minor injuries Friday night when he was hit by a shotgun blast while checking his house for an apparent intruder.
Police said Steven Donald Becker, 34, of the unit block of Avondale Circle, was treated for pellet wounds but refused to go to a hospital. The person who shot him has not been caught.
Becker told police that he heard a noise while watching television in his downstairs family room at about 10:30 p.m. He said he heard a door to an adjacent room creak, investigated and found the door open.
He yelled, "Hey," and was struck by a shotgun blast and flying glass that came through a window at the back of the room. Police saidBecker received numerous welts from the pellets but was not seriously injured.
THREE MEN ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGES
Three men were arrested Friday afternoon after police say they were allegedly selling crack cocaine in the apartment community of Valley Brook in Glen Burnie.
Police said narcotics detectives and Northern District patrol officers saw three men dealing cocaine. They seized $225 and $200 worth of crack cocaine.
Charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine and conspiracy are Glen Burnie residents Ralph Edward Simms, 18, of the 7800 block of South Hampton Drive and Payton Valentino Poynter, 30, of the 6000 block of Heritage Hill Drive.
Chargedwith distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine is Paul Anthony Jones, 22, of the 11200 block of Westport Drive, Bowie.
GLEN BURNIE WOMAN ROBBED BY GUNMAN
A Glen Burnie woman was robbed Saturday evening by a gunman.
County police said at 7:25 p.m., the woman andher 19-month-old granddaughter were getting out of a car in the 7800block of Americana Circle when the gunman and another man approachedthem.
The gunman threatened the woman and demanded her purse. Sheturned it over and the robbers ran off.
Police gave no description of the assailants.
CROWNSVILLE PAIR ROBBED AT GUNPOINT
Two Crownsville residents were robbed of $240 at gunpoint early Saturday morning, county police said.
Investigators said the pair were getting out of their car in the 200 block of Long Point Road when two gunmen armed with semiautomatic handguns demanded their money. The pair gave them their money and the robbers ran down Long Point Road.
Police described the first gunman as black, about 5-foot-9 with a medium build. The second robber was described as a black man with a heavy build.
